golden amber with light haze and thick white head with fine bead
smell is tropical fruit from hops with citrus rind and slight herbal element
feel is midly bitter up frint with medium carbonation mstly dry with some malt support
taste is gently fruity yeast and citrus from hops with tea like astringent midfle and mild malt backing with grapefruit zest and light acidity with a mild malt sweet middle and hints of pineapple and green tea with mild grass in dry bitter finish
overall this is an outstanding IPA that has both a blend of tropical and citrus hops yet a good malt foundation to make it very drinkable with tasty hop focus

(review from October 2018) Solid ipa with subtle pineapple & lemony notes; clean, smooth & lite on the palate, not as hoppy as it's 59ibus implies. Didn't get the guava though? Goes down astonishingly fast as it's literally vanished as I've typed this!

Taster at Bittercreek. Not getting the high scores. Extremely understated, light aroma and taste. Smooth, but not a lot there. Was expecting more oomph.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for thus beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, light pineapple. Taste is citrus, light tropical fruits, mild bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

On this fine CANQuest (tm) morning, I have decided NOT to trek out to a book sale as originally intended, having satiated that jones last night in PHL. Just as with beer, my book backlog is stunning & I want to actually read some of them as opposed to simply buying more. Since I am at home for the bulk of the day, I am having some brewery horizontals before a show later this evening involving multiple bands.

From the CAN: "Flavors Through Hops"; "Hints of: Pineapple[,] Guava[,] Lemon Drop".

I was really anxious to Crack! open the vent on this one & to see how it held up. I beCAN with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass, watching as it foamed up to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. Its color was a magnificent Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting a visit from The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Midas & Mammon, all clamoring for a taste. It looked like liquefied sunshine in my glass! 8=O Nose was decidedly tropical with the pineapple-guava CANbo really CANming through with just a hint of lemony citrusiness. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was pleasant, not overly sweet, definitely of guava but the lemony citrusiness had become more assertive than on the nose. Mmm. Finish was definitely dry, slightly tart with a pronounced citrusiness. Frankly, I was thankful that it had worked out this way since I am less than enthralled by tropical hops & while this may have been its original orientation, now it was heavily oriented towards the Lemon Drop hops. Mmm. YMMV.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; produced 10/16/18.
A: Pours a very slightly hazy, golden to amber color with a three to four finger, very fluffy, egg shell white head, excellent retention, and sticky, fluffy lacing.
S: Aromas of honeysuckle, tangerine, guava, pineapple, resin, and lemon zest.
T: Semidry to dry. Flavors favor caramel malt, honey, guava, and citrus, but elements of nose persist. Bitterness really offsets malt and leads to a solidly clean finish.
M: Modest carbonation with modest effervescence (after robust pour).
O: Very solid, WCIPA.

Candy yellow, clear filtered with lots of carbonation and a finger of white head.

Smells of lemon candy, dank green leaf, and resinous oils.

Tastes of lemon zest, lemon tea, dank resin, and a hint of mango and tropical fruit.

Medium, slightly resinous body with moderate carbonation. Tannic finish.

I got this at Redding where I am enjoying it, April 14th, 2019. Decent, different brew.

L - Semi-hazy straw yellow with a large white head that sticks around and leaves behind a solid amount of lacing.
S - piney, resinous, bitter hops mixed with notes of lemon and tropical fruits - maybe even strawberry notes
T - follows the nose with piney, resinous, bitter hops up front followed by notes of lemon, tropical fruits with a malt backbone - honestly a little watery on the backend
F - Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, refreshing.
O - Honestly, I was hoping for more out of this one, but overall it's just an ok IPA. Good, but I'm not enthusiastic about trying others from the series.
