In the words of Brewmaster Matt Brynildson, “Mind Haze offers the best of what you expect from a hazy IPA. But we’re going about it a little differently, and that’s what gives Mind Haze its own unique signature. We’re finally ready to do a hazy IPA the Firestone way.”

MALTS: 2-Row, White Wheat, Torrified Wheat, Munich, Golden Naked Oats

HOPS: Kettle: Cashmere, Mandarina. Dry Hop: El Dorado, Idaho 7, Azacca, Mosaic, Cashmere

Firestone's first take on New England style IPA.

Look: Medium haze and light gold in color, white head that leaves lacing
Aromas: Smells fresh! Grassy earthy cilantro-like aromas and fruity aromas like pineapple, melons, citrus (zest), and raw mango.
Taste: Tastes quite light, fruity on the palette - tastes quite similar to what it smells like - grassy earthy cilantro-like freshness along with a floral element, the malt is so different and unique (in a good way). Can't believe it's clocked at 6.2 ABV
Feel: Light to medium mouthfeel, unlike your traditional NE IPA (doesn't have a hard hop characteristic and malt isn't like your classic pale ale either).

Overall: A fun & unique beer! ABV: 6.2 | IBU: 40

A - Pours out hazy gold, with a white head that leaves a thick cap and lots of small bubble lacing.

S - Pungent grape and grassy hop notes, with some sharp resin and minerality.

T - Spiky open, with wine-like fruit notes, solid grape over a malt core, and an acidic, slightly bitter finish.

M - Brisk carbonation, with a slightly slick feel, ending with a fairly clean close.

O - Not sure how much of a NEIPA this is, but it is a solid hazy IPA. Pretty tasty, quite drinkable.

Opaque at best deep gold; streaming carbonation; tight white head; good cap retention; heavy ring; bands of soapy lacing. Lemon grass nose. Mild lemon peel bitterness; firm malt base. Light body; moderate minus carbonation; no astringency. Overall, an easy drinking light beer with a tasty bitter lemony linger; what I would call a NEIPA Lite, as it is barely opaque with a watery thin feel; for people who really don’t like Hazies; I like!

6/26/22 From a twelve pack of Firestone IPA mix.

The aroma in this one is so interesting! Bready with an underlying tropical scent. Unfortunately, there wasn't a whole lot on the flavor, slight sweetness with a light but bitter finish. The mouthfeel, however, is again, smooth enough to make you think there's oatmeal in the mash.

Pours a milky yellow. Sweet aroma. Light foam. Big buttery hop body. Light sweetness. Even bitterness throughout. Pretty good all the way through.

Appearance: Cloudy straw color. Large, fast fading white head, scant lacing.
Aroma: Wheat bread, tropical fruit, light citrus.
Taste: Soft, fruity, citrusy with a floral edge.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and decently carbonated leading to a short lived finish.
Overall: Even the Firestone name does not help elevate this one into the 'must have' territory. Good, but...

Taking the haze to Southern California, Firestone Waker has clearly got their mind on their hazy and their hazy on my mind.

With a hazy golden pour, Mind Haze builds a creamy white swath of seafoam before greeting the nose with an herbal, fruity citrusy and overall green perfume presence. As a gentle sweetness washes the early palate, it does so with notions of honeysuckle, shortbread, cereal and a softer balance of vanilla and dough.

Generally light in its malt profile for a hazier ale, the malt influence fades on the middle palate and the hops rapidly build. The taste of white grapefruit, under ripened orange, lime and lemon carry a green tea herbal presence while a complementary fruity hop flavor of lighter tropical fruits add complexity and roundness. Dried pineapple, passionfruit, papaya and white grape have the beer trending nearly tangy with a hop bitterness that's sharp with verbena, lemongrass, spruce and sassafras.

Light, crisp and refreshing, the beer's herbal and grassy bite is the only think keeping it from premiere cleanness. It finishes spicy with dank and botanical hops with hints of gin, tea and juice following into a medium long finish of grassy, stemmy and leafy herb.

a solid NEIPA that doesn't particularly stand out but hits an excellent balance and smooth run, making for a good standby for a session or a good entry point to someone new to the style.

Stupid 19.2oz can (dated 11/16/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a murky and slightly muddy light orange color with an inch of white head that had good retention and lacing.

The aroma and flavor were the typical grainless, generic, frooty hops of the style. The body was also as expected; light and smooth, with a semi-sweet finish. Drinkability was OK, for the style. Overall, JAAMB (Just Another Average Murk Bomb).

Tropical and fruity is what you get from this hazy IPA. Not a big amount of hops which I was a bit disappointed by but Firestone has a number of other beers with the hop forward taste. It's a golden, hazy, pale IPA that's easy drinking without too much pine. If you don't really like IPAs but want the citrus kick this is probably your beer.

Poured into a nonic.

Pours medium gold and moderately hazed with a nice ample pillowy bone white head.

Aromas of tropical fruit and citrus.

Honey-kissed pale malts on the tip of the tongue. White stone fruit, a bit of mango and lime in midstream. The finish has some resin and earth.

Medium bodied and drying at the finish. Carbonation is limited, but enough.

Interesting flavors but not rock star level.
