In the words of Brewmaster Matt Brynildson, “Mind Haze offers the best of what you expect from a hazy IPA. But we’re going about it a little differently, and that’s what gives Mind Haze its own unique signature. We’re finally ready to do a hazy IPA the Firestone way.”

12 oz can, canned8/12/20. Pours very murky yellow with a small white head that quickly goes to a light dusting.

The aroma is very subdued - a little fruit.

The flavor is a bit subdued too - sweet wheat malt and some fruit with light bitter resin finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, this is a pretty subdued NE IPA. I remember liking this more last time I had it.

This is pretty good. Nice mild juicy orange and a bit of grapefruit zest. Light floral. Mild-moderate caramel sweetness. Decent body and carbonation. As far as more widely distributed hazies go, this is a solid staple

Poured from a 19.2 oz. can. Has a hazy, bright golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pineapple, citrus. Taste is juicy, oranges, pineapple, hints of mango, mild bitterness. Feels medium.full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.

Canned 7/21/20.
L: A huge head bursts up from the glass, nearly pure white with big bubbles that fizz quick. The color is a light to pale gold, bright. As expected, it has a high degree of haze yet is not viscous.
S: Very floral with dashed of lemon rind. Fairly straightforward, minimal evolution.
T: Lemon Pledge in a flower garden. Juicy and sweet, not with much bitterness. Balanced malt characteristics, not like a cake, rather a lemon scone.
F: Feels full but not overly dense, graceful on the tongue- no rager in your mouth.
I am apt to go for a New England IPA more often than not, and Firestone did well. The look was exactly as I would predict and the nose grew on me. I appreciated the light bakery flavor working in the background. There are several other NEIPAs, however, that I would grab for first if given the selection. Mind Haze meets standards without exceeding them.

2 month old can.
Pretty weak in all aspects.
A hazy ipa to cater to the masses.
Stonefruit neipa character but all flavors pretty weak.
Wouldn’t really in good conscience recommend to a neipa connoisseur

Vessel: Tall Boy Can. This is one of those beers that wants to be an IPA but in the end is just a nice hoppy pale ale IMO. The nose is sweet, definitely some citrusy notes and some fruitiness coming through. Big foamy head on the pour - waited for it die down then gave it try. Taste is mellow, not much hop bite to speak of, very smooth and easy drinking as some of the other reviewers have mentioned. It's called an east coast IPA so maybe that's why the strong hop forward notes are missing but hey still a tasty beer for sure. I am not on board with classifying this as an IPA, no worries though, still a great offering from Firestone.

i like this! this is like a Squirt in the same way as taste and carbonation! super easy to take large gulps of and it quenches like a lager! i think that is its best quality- the fact that it quenches a real thirst so well!

Looks like a healthy, hazy straw shade. Smells really tasty, an extra sweetness almost berry. Strongly hopped, but not especially flavorful. Especially dry, very very light citrus flavor barely palpable. I must say I came back and edited this review after letting the beer sit for about 10 minutes. I know that they say you shouldn't drink these too cold, but letting it sit made a world of difference, good for a quarter point on taste and overall. Much tastier, and less bitter as well for me.
Tallboy canned on 07/06.

It is ok, nothing really wrong with it, but nothing memorable either. Hazy IPA, slightly citrusy. Kinda light. It is good as part of a pack, but I would not get this by itself. Better choices out there.

A hazy pale orange color. A modest white head that disappears in seconds, scant lace.
Fruity aroma, both citrus and tropical.
Taste of orange, tangerine, pineapple, a little melon. Late floral hops.

Pours a pale straw. Quite murky, thin head.
Faint citrus (Lemon) maltiness.
Creamy-crisp & a tad bit watery.
Sour simplicity, rather serene.
Proper Hazy aftertaste.
A couple strides above & beyond tolerable to a West Coast IPA fanatic.

A pale gold, hazy (imagine that....) pour, light and quickly fading head. Very subdued aroma, catching just a whiff of pine & citrus. Pronounced but not overly hoppy. Modest malt background. We have a lot of respect for F-W beers, but this one is well made biput decidedly modest in a crowded field.

The most flavorless, watered-down joke of an IPA I have ever come across. Truly pathetic. We got a 12 pack with 3 each of their 4 beers, all were equally as bland. Nearly threw them all out, but, beer is beer.

I don't think Firestone Walker is a legit brewery. I looked up their history, it seems they were bought by Duvel just before running themselves out of business, now they're Duvel's bastard stepchild beers. Yuck.

Pours an effervescent & hazed gold with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head. Below average head retention & lacing

S: Citrus, tropical fruit

T: Tangerines, sweet oranges and a little guava up front, plus dryness. Pineapple & dryness as this warms, a little peach as well. Finishes with sweet orange & pineapple

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation nice balance

Very easy to drink , nice flavors, a lot subtle flavors I didn't taste drinking this on a less than clean palate

Smells of orange juice, flowers, sherbet, biscuit malt

Big citrus - orange, tropical fruit - mango, slight biscuit malt backbone, finishing with a dry floral note.

Part of a mixed IPA twelver I picked up over the holiday weekend. This was a nice little hazy IPA that wasn't amazing but just kind of hit enough high notes. Balance and depth of flavor, particularly tropical fruit and savory oily hops is the key with this easy drinking 6.2 abv sampling. Awesome finish and just general drinkability.

12 oz can....packaged 3/30/20, so 3 months in the can, not ideal, but lets see how this one has held up.

Pretty typical hazed up/NEIPA look going on here, all under a looser bubble light oatmeal cap. Leaves ample blotchy blobs of lacing.

On the sniff its the always welcoming ripe tropicals, with melon and mango coming to mind.

More of the same on the palate, melon, mango, kiwi and a hint of oranges. Light, refreshing and fresh tasting. Worthy take on the style, nice to see from a larger brewery...fine everyday and readily available kinda brew....worth a try.

I got a nice and fresh 12-pack of this brew to enjoy inbetween Gin and Tonics and Margaritas.

Look: Fully haze orange-yellow color with a white and smooth head of tiny bubbles. The head settles to a thin veil and leaves light lacing.

Smell: Post kettle additions of El Dorado, Idaho 7, Azacca, Mosaic, Cashmere all contribute to the juicy aroma of ripe yellow peach, melon, apricot, tropical fruits, cereal grain, and pine alongside mild biscuit dough and floral malt aromas. Very juicy and enticing.

Taste/Feel: Apricot marmalade, green melon, juicy ripe yellow peach, cereal grain, biscuit, slight pineapple, and a tingly pine bitterness thanks to Cashmere, Mandarina Bavaria hops in the kettle. A malt bill of 2-Row, White Wheat, Torrified Wheat, Munich, Golden Naked Oats create excellent mouthfeel; medium-bodied and smooth with excellent carbonation to support the richness and complexity of this unfiltered brew.

Overall: Drinkable, enjoyable, and well-balanced. This is an excellent example of the style that showcases a very unique malt bill creating super smooth mouthfeel and malt-derived flavors to balance the explosively juicy and fruity hops. I always stress the importance of ample carbonation in hazy beers for scrub and lift on the palate, and this beer has plenty of carbonation. Excellent.

L- Hazy orange and yellow looking that’s pretty typical of a hazy ipa. Nice foamy white head with decent retention

S- lots of citrus and grapefruit on the nose with some dank qualities

T- has a citrus and floral hop taste typical of a hazy ipa. There’s also a dank taste that’s not super strong. Slight bitterness on the back end that’s enjoyable.

F- nice carbonation without a lot of prickliness which makes it go down smooth. Medium body and the oats used for this beer give it a creamy texture.

O- a solid hazy ipa I will pick up again

I enjoyed this hazy IPA, which wasn't super heavy but did give you some hops, mostly of the fruity varieties. I'd say it was juicy to some extent, but more just tropical than anything else. Maybe a touch on the high side for ABV for a beer like this, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Solid work from these guys.

Look: very nice hazy IPA look, but the head did vanish quickly

Smell: strong floral/citrusy

Taste: something is a little overpowering, I think it's out of balance

Feel: thickness and carbonation are nice; 'BrewerBurgundy' said "effervescent" and that's true - I like that

Overall: I've been a big fan of these hazy IPA's for a while now. Something about this one just comes off wrong. It's definitely a good beer, but for example, I prefer the Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo. I went through about 36 of those, totally satisfied, before looking elsewhere. This is a 6 pack and onward. Looking back at my ratings, I think it's right to say that the look, smell, and feel are above average. But the taste, which is obviously the big one, is a letdown for me.

Poured from a can, after allowing it to warm to just below cellar temperature, into a clear pint glass. Looks more like an under carbonated soda. Almost no lasting head, lacing nor aroma. The taste is pleasant, but in no way distinctive. There's very little hop delivery to think of it as any kind of an IPA. Overall the taste and feel supercede the rest. It's OK.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 3/17/20.

Appearance: pale yellow hue with plenty of haze. There's a thin layer of white foam atop; it looks the part, for sure.

Smell: fruity aroma with both citrus and tropical fruits. Straightforward, but I like it.

Taste: a little on the sweet side with some tropically fruity hops. Bitterness is low; overall, the flavor is good, but something about it just seems a little flat. So, I like it, but I feel like it's not as interesting as it could be.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a really good creaminess for the style.

Overall: a decent hazy IPA, but not one I'm likely to seek out again.

a golden haze and white head with very fine bead
smell has a pineapple and papaya tropical aroma of hops and slight malt sweetness
The feel and taste are a mix of bitter and dry with yeasty fruity and tropical hop tang with slightly high carbonation with semi dry finish
there is semi citrus and grapefruit mix of sweet and bitter taste with yeast favoring the hops with fruity and mild tang quality
this is a great IPA with a west coast take that delivers a lot of hop flavor it is a different texture than a cookie cutter take...it is lightly oxidized but still great with a pleasant mix of yeast and tropical hop flavors dominant
