Amber pour...vanishing head...thin, but quiet waves of complexity....bitter flows to floral..NICE..at 7.5 % not a hint of ALC. My taste buds hoping for a closing splash but not happening. This is a good IPA but not a great one . In the IPA race to the top.. closing in, but finishing just out of the winners circle. Cheers

Bottled: 10/14/13
Drinking: 12/23/13 @ 7:00 PM (Merry Christmas!)
Setting: Living room couch, watching The Office (Benihana Christmas)

A: Pours crisp, clear, and like a shiny copper penny. Looks reminiscent of clean apple cider. Nice 2 finger billowy head that sticks around for awhile and caps nicely for the duration of the drink. Decent lacing.

S:Candied citrus peel. Sweet and sugary malts, forward citrus and pine hops with the citrus dominating. Nice faint hint of tree sap/earthiness to it, also a little biscuit.

T: Pineapple and grapefruit juice. Warming alcohol bite that fades into a pinecone/forest floor wetness mixed with candied citrus rinds and bread crust.

MF: A bit thinner than I expected, but after seeing it in the glass I realized that's what was coming. Sticky and sugary on the lips and tongue. Hangs around for awhile. Nice bitterness on back sides of the tongue. Was expecting a bit more mouthfeel, but still nice.

O: As always, the West Coast nails it. Would drink this beer at any time. It's up there with the Racer 5's, Stones, Ballast Points, etc. A solid, drinkable IPA that doesn't overwhelm your palette, which is becoming all too commonplace these days.

Bottled 11/11/13

A: Pours a golden color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a nice cap

S: Nice and hoppy, with a good deal of citrus and fruitiness. Grapefruit definitely stands out. Not much malt presence compared to the hoppiness

T: Starts off with the hops. Grapefruit stands out again, along with other citrus notes and tropical fruits. Bitterness comes in shortly after. Malts do a good job at balancing things out, as it lends a very light sweetness and a bit of toastiness. Alcohol hides nicely in the background. Finishes with a moderate bitterness

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: While this brew is hop-heavy, it somehow remains quite balanced and drinkable. Definitely cures a hop craving and would be a solid go-to IPA. Definitely worth trying

I started with smelling this copper in color brew and was pleased with the light hop aroma out of the bottle.

This is a wonderfully balanced IPA with a skew towards a grapefruit and floral bitterness that has spice from the hoppiness. There is some caramel and toasted malts, but the hops are very much there, especially at their peak during the end. The finish comes off very floral and dry, lingering a moment or two of bitterness and perfume.

I want to try their Double Jack double IPA too. The guys said it was very good.

Good job Firestone!

I can't wait to try it on TAP!
