Rereview from a few years back. Bottled on 9/5/13.

A: Brilliant orange/copper hue. PExcellent clarity. Moderate to minimal carbonation. One finger bleached khaki head. Good retention, stellar lacing.

S: Massive bomb of grapefruit. Pulp, juice, whatever you wish to call it. Tropical notes underneath that with lots of mango and huge papaya. Underneath that is the dank earthiness. Touch of the savory onion. Malt brings in an added level of sweetness, with caramel and a touch of toffee sipping through.

T: Front palate is a honeyed, almost graham cracker like sweetness. Mid palate brings about that huge tropical boquet, with the same mango and papaya. This evolves into bruising grapefruit juice. This quickly bitters into grapefruit pulp, which further bitters into the rind. This finish of grapefruit rind also carries an herbal, almost mint like essence, which melds perfectly with the savory notes in the nose. Finish is bitter, perfumy and oh so citrus.

M: Medium bodied with an awesomely drying finish. The malt doesn't weigh this one down, but does contribute a nice backbone for the hops to run wild.

O: Exceptional, in every sense of the word. An amazing IPA.

Pours a nice amber color with about a one inch off white head. It is a good looking beer. The head is actually still there after about 20 minutes - impressive. Nose is heavy, heavy fruit, peachy mango with light citrus. Grapefruit, melon and a little berry flavor, with hop bitters at the back end. Medium mouthfeel and creamy texture. Overall, a great IPA. One of the things I really like about it and I think sets it apart from other IPAs is the heavy fruit aromas and flavors, which gives it a sweeter profile, and then the hop bitters really kick in at the end. I'd say it's exceptional.

Just over 3 months old.

Pours a filtered chrome with potent white head. Good head/lacing.

Smell is a little more potent than Stone IPA. Just seems like a bigger beer. Fruits- more rounded sweet fruits like oranges. Still some pine, and lime here.

Taste is again a slightly sweeter pine and lime. This one's noticeably maltier but also has loads of hop aromatics.

Mouthfeel is again all orange, some lime, and a little bit of grapefruit.

Pungent flavour. Potent and kind of balanced.

In cans at the Uptown Beer Gatden in Philly. Nice IPA and nice views. FW has so many options and, while I'd rather have the Double Jack, this can was by far the best option of the night. Enjoy, kids.
