Big thanks to fartingdog for hooking us up with this one, enjoyed with biegaman and grub on the patio with some euchre.

Pours a slightly hazed orange, white white head forms, drops a ton of lace, solid ring. Smell is great, floral, grapefruit, oranges, caramel, bread, perfumy, lots of citrus goodness, very well rounded. Taste is even better, caramel, cake, sugar, jasmine, orange and tangerine, bit of yeast, some fruit, floral, nice bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Very enjoyable, nice tight flavours, very balanced, definitely a good one. Thanks Dave!

A- Pours a nice bright golden amber color with a nice head that left a good amount of lacing. This brew is very clear.

S- Smells mostly of citrus and pine with plenty of earthy caramel malt as well. A nice balance while still being really hoppy. Smell is pretty bold.

T- This one follows the nose. Lots of citrus hops right up front. Nice sweet malt provides a wonderful sweet malty backbone. Full in flavor with great balance.

M- Medium in body, good carbonation and nice and crisp.

D- Very well balanced, could drink this all day long.

Thanks RblWthACoz for this one.

Poured a 12oz bottle into my Boulevard goblet. This beer pours a clean and clear honey brown with a sticky, white head that left lacing down the sides of the glass. This is a really pretty beer. The aroma is west coast hops with just a bit of citrus coming out, some spiciness and just a bit of pine. Also just a bit of grass. The taste is awesome. It's really a perfect balance of hops and the malt backbone. The hop bite is right up front with big piney hops and a slight kiss of orange. The sweet malt comes out at the very finish of the beer. This is really good. The mouthfeel is light and crisp, while having enough body to hold such a big taste. This is my first experience with Firestone and it makes me understand why this brewery gets such respect from Beer Geeks.

Pours a clear golden amber with 2+ fingers of frothy off-white head. Great retention and good sticky lacing. Smells of citrus, bread, caramel, and spicy hops and pine. Taste starts off with a nice refreshing citrus flavor of grapefruit and orange rind followed by a good caramel and bread backbone with a touch of peppercorn. Finish is lightly of spruce pine and floral hops. Medium in body but a little watery in the back end. Good carbonation. Smooth and citrusy with a solid malt flavor and a bit of bitterness in the finish. A very solid IPA that packs in lots of hop flavors but isn't as bitter as some others. The alcohol is well hidden and the flavors leave the beer quite irresistible.

Thanks to barleywinefiend for this one.
This one poured a nice clean golden color with little head that disappeared quickly. The nose is very hoppy on this one like any good IPA. The taste is citrus with some piny taste to it. A bit of a hot alcohol taste but very drinkable for an IPA. Definitely worth a try.

Appearance> lively, dark honey color, no head. decent lacing.
Smell> hops and citrus, nice.
Taste> Average AmIPA. Lacks complexity of some of it's competitors. Start to finish happens too fast: sip-hops-tiny hang-done.
Mouthfeel>Surprisingly creamy mouth for its style. I liked that.
Drinkabilty> so-so. I'd drink it again if someone handed me one, but I'd probably go for a different one if I was in the beer store.

My pour resulted in two fingers' worth of thick, foamy, ecru head with good retention. Nose had a very citrus-hop smell. Color was a medium-amber/light-gold. Mouthfeel had a slight graininess to it, like it might have been overly dry hopped and saturated as a result. The taste was very hoppy, grapefruit-like in its citrus/dry way. The finish was extremely dry and satisfying. I had purchased a six-pack of this beer while in Oxnard, CA and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them.

My original bottle review stands, but today is T, 18 July 2017 & this is The CANQuest (tm)!

Not a CANplaint, but a CANtion - FW seems to be the maters of the brimful CAN. I Crack!ed open the CAN only to get massive amounts of foaming due to the tongue not having anywhere to go when displacing the liquid CANtained therein. I have lots of exbeerience with this, however, and I CANmenced a very slow, gentle Glug. I was met with two fingers of soapy, foamy, tawny head with moderate retention that ended up leaving some great lacing in its wake. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was reminiscent of a DIPA with loads of grapefruit & tropical fruits along with a mintiness & a caramel maltiness, all acCANponied by a sinus-tickling fusel alcohol heat. This bad boy now clocks in at 7.5% & is PFC to a DIPA! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was initially grapefruit, but followed closely by tropical fruit and mint flavors, finished with a light caramel sweetness. Phew! May I see some ID, sir? Are you SURE that you are not a DIPA? Finish rocked me back in my seat & made me CANsider what I was doing. It was quite pleasantly dry and so eminently drinkable as to be downright dangerous. Phew. Proceed with caution.

Pours a very nice clean/clear, dark golden orange color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, which leaves some islands and nice sticky lacing. The nose is pretty hoppy, with some malts thrown in, citrus, and some pines. The taste is hoppy, with some nice malt blend, with some citrus and pines. Medium body, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall a very tasty IPA, nice to see it here in UT.

Thanks goes out to murphjuice and Bitterbill for this brew.

Pours a clear amber with a creme head that falls quickly. Nose is a nice floral citrus mix. Real airy, but with good character. Flavor is nice. Great hop mix. Citrus and sweet (almost a bit too much on the backside) are consistent as is a nice mellow floral flavor. It's balanced, even though there is a full flavor. A bit of a hot touch from the alcohol, but it's minimal and doesn't matter much by the time you've processed everything. Feel has a slight bite on the carbonation and the liquid is good. Easy to drink and a nice IPA. Comes off as slightly more refined as other IPAs that try to muscle their way to the top.

Simply good in every way. I don't take any single element and think that it is exceptional on its own, but over all, this is the type of beer that should be held up as a standard for others to attain in this style.

This was a nice surprise, because when I moved the sausage and butter bin on the top shelf, this mystery bottle was in the back. This was somebody's leftover from the 4th! Gotta love summer months!

this one is nice, a beautiful amount of hops, it is bitter from begining to end and the after taste laeves you wanting more, this one is a orangeing yellow color (lighter than i usaly like) that pours with little to no head, it is purfictly carbonated and at 7.5 abv it is no joke, try this one it is good

Poured this 12 oz. brown bottle into a Samuel Adams glass. No date on the bottle. The body had a slight haze in the apricot color. A creamy white head reached 1 1/2" which faded to sticky lace and a film on top.

Smell was bready. Citrus. Peppercorns and marmalade. Nice.

Taste was of big citrus. Lots of hops flavor here. Parching (in a good way). Piney and drying. Bittering aftertaste lingered. Reminds me of Hopslam only a bit more drinkable. I wish I had access to this one.

Mouthfeel was zesty, medium bodied, and way too drinkable. Yum.

I bought a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse in LA. The beer was very clear, orange color, just enough foam and a lot of sticky lace. The aroma is so good, more American than English (and based on the name I think I expected a more English version), lots of American west-coast style hops aroma in this. Citrusy, delicious, and it came through in the flavor also. Medium body keeps it drinkable, although it's no slouch at 7.5%.

12 oz bottle into Goliath glass

A - Poured into nice foamy 3-finger head; clear bronze brew; dark gold; sticky lacing; good lookin

S - hops, sweet, almost a raspberry note, balanced by slight caramel

T-M - Watery, refreshing nose; quaffable; spicy sweet hops drift in with a potpourri bitterness mellowed by distant fruits...

D - Would like to try this one on tap. Was lighter, or maybe not as malty, as many IPAs I've had. Normally dont session IPAs due to lingering bitterness, so my D takes this into acct. Extremely tasty IPA.

On-tap at Heroe's in Claremont, CA, on to the beer:

This is a good looking amber colore beer mixed with reddish and orange hues, and as a bonus leaves good lacing in the glass. Aroma is mildly hoppy. As for the taste, if you guessed hopy, you're correct. It's big upfront and piney, it softens up into tidbits of caramel and bread. Surprisingly refreshing and easy drinking.

Lucked into a 6-pack of this at Ralph's. It wasn't even in their inventory. Lucky me. Poured into a pint glass.

A: Dark for an IPA, dark amber or orange really. I get almost no head, although with a fairly cold pour, and decent lacing.

S: Sweet citrus flavor (orange) and citrus hops Smells almost more like an IIPA to me. Very nice.

T: Clean opening with just a touch of sugary malt, followed quickly by the hops. A bit of citrus, but the quality is mostly resiny and bitter.

MF: Thin body, and smooth for the style. Carbonation is pretty subdued, but an extremely crisp and clean beer. Aftertaste is bitter and long lasting. Not a lot of warming with this one, but you do notice the 7.5% after a while.

D: Surprisingly sessionable considering the ABV. A couple bottles will give you a nice buzz but you won't regret it in the morning. The flavor is excellent...just a little extra malt gives this an almost IIPA like quality. One of the best IPA's I've had, right up there with Stone and AleSmith IMO.
I gotta give it to FW. Don't just love Double Barrel, but the IPA and pale ale are awesome.

Aroma is loaded with fruity hop character - grapefruit, pineapple, and candied citrus are all apparent with the pineapple being most prominent. Slight alcoholic presence. Malty sweetness is also there but rather clean and I can't pick out specific malt characters. Smells so wonderful I can't wait to taste it.

Appearance is a light gold, very clear. Formed a two-three finger white head which collapsed down to a finger and held up throughout the session. It is amazing how clear the beer is given its hop character.

Like the nose, taste is centered on the hop flavors - Pineapples and oranges most prominently. Bitterness is medium-high and this lingers into the dry finish. Light piney-ness. Very clean malt sweetness. Fantastic!

Medium bodies with a moderate level of carbonation. Smooth bitterness without astringency. A little warmth from alcohol.

Overall this is an extremely drinkable IPA. Excellent hop aroma and flavor, great variety. Nicely paired with the clean sweetness. Easily a multi-pint beer.

Thanks to BrewBakerE for this brew:

A - Transparent honey colored brew with a perfect two finger fluffy white head that hung around for a long time before slowly disipating leaving a heavy lace.

S - Smells sweets with a decent presence of floral and citrus malts with a honey sweet malt.

T - Murky citrus hops and a subtle caramel malt. Not much there. I wonder if I got a bad bottle.

M - Smooth, almost non existant, carbonation and a bitter aftertaste.

D - Not what I had hoped it would be. Would only try another another bottle to re-review it.

Thanks to largadeer for that one.

This one pours a bright gold with a hint of orange with a bit of haze. The head is a neat lacy white film that looks like sea foam.

Smells a sweet hard candy peach and a touch of pineapple with a nice rounding off of pine. If there was an IPA candy, it would smell like this.

<Ed takes a sip>

Ed: Shit!

<Ed takes another sip>

Ed: Now that's what I'm talking about!

The flavor consists of a dray, sweet and present dehydrated peaches. This fades effortlessly into a snazzy zing of soft and velvety piny hops. Wow. The balance here is off the charts. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is one of those archetypal IPAs. Wow.

Feels slick but chewy with a glassy texture backed by a slightly thickening mini-carbonation. Nice.

This is one of those beers that you'll need to track down. I'm wishin' I had a case of this.

Pours a golden amber with lively carbonation and a medium white head. Sticky spots of lacing down the glass. Smell is nice. Spicy, earthy hops up front. Some tropical fruits and sweet scents. Pineapple with a little caramel. Taste showcases more hops. Some grapefruit, orange, and pine wallop the tongue. The malt reinforcement is there but lets the hops show through, simply providing an underlying sweetness. Nice biscuity finish. A bracing bitterness with a delicate tickle of the tongue. Great mouthfeel. Despite how big this one is, it's a very easy beer to drink. Well-crafted and a solid all around beer. Glad I have another in the fridge to follow, that's for sure.

Thanks goes to Zorro for a couple of these via Brews N Tunes Volume 3...

The color was of a medium deep golden yellow with a reddish hue with medium amount of foam and lace. The smell of sweet/tart hops filled the nose with a pleasant soft aroma, with a hint of fruit. The taste had a pleasant sweet bitterness with a fruity aftertaste of watermellon and pineapple. Very nice American IPA. I usually don't care for IPA's, but for this one I have to make an exception.

Deep copper almost amber, clear body with two finger head.

Smell comes at you like a west coast IPA should. Heavy citric hops with a strong biscuity malt compliment. Taste is like the nose. Strong grapefruit, almost lemon like hops with a bisuit malt backbone. For all the West Coast IPAs, this does stand apart with a unique and different taste. Dry finish to leave resiny aftertaste, like you would get after eating a grapefruit.

I wish I could ahve this fresh, I'm sure qualities would stand up a little more. Either way a good and almost sessionable IPA.

Thanks to HopHead84 for tossing this one is an extra giving me the chance to try another good California IPA.

It pours out that nice glowing orange with a fluffy off white head. Great looking IPA.

It smells mostly of citrus and pine with plenty of earthy caramel malt as well. A nice balance while still being really hoppy.

Taste is similar to the smell. A great citrus/pine hop burst then some balancing malt for an earthy and bitter finish.

Really smooth and easy drinking. Medium bodied and pleasant carbonation. No way does this seem like 7.50% ABV.

Another really good sessionable IPA from CA. A little high on the ABV but its hidden well.

A very nice beer and much better than other Firestone Walker beers I've had from sixpacks. This beer alone is reason enough for me to try some of their other products as they come out- and not just the really hard to find ones like 10 or 11. Pours a dark golden with a thin head and spotty lacing. Smells citrusy, herbal, and a bit earthy. Nicely balanced. The taste is equally balanced between the hops and malt with some nice length to the flavors. Chewy malt with a touch of sweetness and nicely bitter earthy hops. Very good body, and a nice long finish. Delicious, I'm quite impressed with this offering. If it were available in my area it would o into my regular rotation.
