Had this one on-tap after celebrating the end of finals. Ok, I ended up having more than one.

Appearance - Nice copper color. A half-inch of soapy white head. Very, very good lacing all the way down.

Smell - Lots of hops. Grapefruit in particular. Very sweet smelling, almost syrupy. But nice.

Taste - Very hop-forward. Lots of good grapefruit, almost no maltiness to speak of, which is a plus in my book. Some citrus as well. Pretty aggresively hopped in the west coast style.

Mouthfeel - Good carbonation, goes down smooth. Not too sticky but a solid body. Lingers just enough.

Drinkability - Probably too good, frankly. I had several, the review is off notes from the first one. Really enjoyed it.

I woke up this morning with hops still in my mouth. This was a surprisingly good beer, and I'll definitely be having it again. Hadn't realized it was a Firestone contract, and that explains why it was so well made.

Consumed 08/19/08 at Westwood Brewing Company. This beer is contract brewed by Firestone Walker exclusively for Westwood Brewing Company.

Very clear coppery amber with plentiful fine bubbles throughout. Capped with a one finger white head of almost creamy texture that lasts to the bottom of the glass and provides good lacing.

Aroma of fresh, delicious hops. Citrus... particularly grapefruit.

Flavor follows nose. First blush on the palate is all hop flavor: grapefruit with some moderate bitterness on the finish. Subsequent quaffs reveal a subtle caramel malt flavor lurking beneath the hops.

Though hop forward, this brew is reasonably balanced and highly drinkable; better than SNPA on draft.
