A dangerously drinkable Double IPA. Double Jack opens up with bright grapefruit and tangerine American hop aromas. Beautifully crafted undertones of stone fruit are revealed upon first sip, followed by the essence of blue basil and pine. A sturdy pale and crystal malt backbone brings balance to high hop intensity. Complex and aggressively hopped, and flawlessly balanced.

A- Pours a clear golden color that is quite possibly as close as you'll get to this hue. Looks like there is plenty of carbonation to dance with my tongue momentarily. The head isn't really impressive upon pouring, being only about a half inch thick, but it takes its' time to settle and finishes with a nitroed looking creamy top. The lacing is second to none....it's thick and clingy on the side of the glass!
S- Superbly smelling DIPA, in my opinion...lots of varying aromas going on here....everything from prominent grapefruit and tangerine/orange to pine needles to fresh herbally hop cones. The bitterness is quite well rounded and while assertive, isn't offensive or overdone.
T- This tastes very close to how it comes across in the aroma! The main difference is the distinct, softening malt profile that really balances this brew out....it like a honeyed sweetness I'm tasting. The citrus and piney hops are bitter, and are blended with a slightly woody/earthy dryness.
M- Surprisingly smooth and creamy for this style. There is a certain oilyness that glazes the palate, leaving me with a clear idea of what is going on in the brew. The oily character lingers on the palate after the swallow, leaving a reminder of its' flavor behind. As it drys on my lips, there is a sweet sticky malt residue noted as well!
O- Fruity, hoppy, smooth and rich, this is quite a nice beer to drink, and I'd be happy to get a hold of this again for enjoyment. The alcohol is so well hidden...I'd never know it's 9.5% other than from reading the label. A real pleasure to have....I'm really starting to dig these IPAs....I guess enjoying something of very high quality will help in this area!

Big. bold up front aroma and taste, but goes down easy. Amber color with nice creamy head, hoppy smell, and slick mouthfeel. This is how a double IPA should taste.

Yellowish color. Herbal aromas and flavor notes. Otherwise, a fairly average IPA. I'm not sure I understand the high marks this beer gets.

Pours a very light hazy amber, ample carbonation and a short lived head. A 12 ounce can dated 9/11/20 so over six months old. First time to find it locally so I bought it. It has grapefruit aroma and not particularly strong. Taste is all hops. Mostly grapefruit and pine. Definitely of the West Coast variety. I imagine it much crisper if it were fresh. I get some resin in the tongue. A hint of sweetness in there too. Overall I think age took it's toll but still tastes good and I'd like to give it another chance when I can get it fresh.

A-orange/gold, minimal head as expected with the high ABV
S-Smells like a a west coast double
T-tastes as advertised too. Relatively malt-forward, but never overly so. The grapefruit and pine stay up front where they belong. Above average bitter.
M-slightly above avg carbonation. Medium body.
O-One of the better WC DIPA's I've enjoyed, despite the SIX MONTH age. Fresh, this thing would be killer.
