Simply the best double IPA you will ever have. MASSIVE candied fruits. Think those dried pineapples that are chewy and delicious. Orange, tangerine. Sweet grapefruit. Hop bitterness in my opinion is more reserved than its union jack younger brother, but still a nice hit of hops. This beer is absolutely fantastic.

Cloudy off yellow pour with thin white head. Smell is grapefruit, alcohol, pine. Taste is hoppy and citrus, balances really well, not over the top bitter. Mouthfeel is smooth with heat from the alcohol at the end.

Overall, excellent beer. Love the heat that comes in at the end very nice little burn. Much more balanced than other Dbl IPAs. This was bottled on 10-25-13 would love to taste a fresh one.

Bomber into over-sized wine glass.

A - Head comprised of many small, tight bubbles which quickly dissipate into a thin surface film. Not a dense foam, but more loose, yet frothy, giving it a substantial appearance. Low to moderate lacing. A crystal clear, light, honey-amber.

S - F'ing glorious. Sweet pineapple and grapefruit split perhaps 70/30 respectively with hop, pine, and sweet alcohol undertones. A minimal amount of funk/dankness; just enough to let you know it's there.

T - Very closely follows smell; pineapple & grapefruit up front degrading into the hops, pine resin, and funky bitterness. Overall it is quite bitter, but also incredibly enjoyable.

M - Surprisingly smooth given the taste. Carbonation is next to nothing. The most perfect 'mouthfeel' I've ever experienced from a beer (of this style) to date. If you're not used to craft or DIPAs, this beer will feel like it's raping your mouth more than likely due to bitterness. If you are used to craft brews and DIPAs, prepare to be wow'ed at the balance. Somehow manages to fall directly in the middle of dry/wet and oily/abrasive.

O - This beer, more than any other I've had, is deserving of the phrase "floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee". Too good to put down, but too strong to replace water unfortunately. It is ridiculously good, perhaps epically so, if you're a fan of the style and enjoy pineapples & grapefruit. I feel that this brew somehow pushes upon extreme boundaries, and attenuates the results with the opposite extremes (magically?) thus crafting an 'uber-perfect-medium'.
