The appearance has a hazy copper/amber colored body with a one finger white foamy head that settles within a minute to a lumpy yet somewhat settled looking head with a clingy foamy lacing that graces the sides of the glass. The smell has a bready, earthy, malty, light spicy, light hoppy aroma. The taste is sweet yet bitter but also a bit of that earthy breadiness coming back with a somewhat dry malty aftertaste and dry finish. The palate is light to medium and definitely sessionable. The carbonation seems smooth for the style and I would say good to me. Overall, I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time, all I have to say is I’m certainly glad to have this. I would definitely have this again.

This is my favorite beer from this brewery. It's a great example of a well-balanced beer.

12oz. can served in a shaker pint. Canned on 1/17/17. Pours a lovely translucent copper hue with a dense, one inch, cream-colored head. Nose is fairly subdued - pale malts with a hint of sweetness and a trace of floral notes towards the back. Taste consistent with nose; however, that trace of sweetness is overshadowed by biscuity notes. Mouthfeel is light in body with a mild, easy carbonation. That said, it comes off a bit watery in the texture. Overall, a solid example of the style. Not sure why the reviews are so low. I bet it's delicious on-cask.

Pint glass at my school. A little bitter but went down smooth. It's a good beer, but this is not the best beer that Firestone Walker brews.

pours a rich amber, mahogany color with a solid head. looks pretty beautiful

smell is lots of malt. caramel sweetness, slight honey.

taste is clean and malty. good flavor and nice body. clearly an English pale ale vs an American pale ale. similar to a regular English bitter. i could put this away on a nice fall day. would be very interested in trying this on cask

A beautiful amber color with crystaline clarity. The aroma is sweet caramel, mineral yeast notes and a hop note that is more floral/herbal. The palate is impeccably balanced with marble rye bread, caramel and beautiful hop character- not an IPA hopiness, but rather a crisp, woodsy style. This is a classic and a welcome refuge from the sea of West Coast hop drones.
