On tap at Pine Box Seattle , Beer week. Very unusual for a Brett . Amber in color and tart. Not sure where the other comment about sweetness comes from. This vintage is not sweet

On-tap at Small Bar Division.

A - White foam settles to wisps, a thin collar, and minimal lace. Murky apple cider-looking body.

S - Smells a lot like DDBA to be honest, but with perhaps a touch of fruity tropical brett to it. Loads of caramel, toffee, toasted grain, and oak as you'd expect from the base beer.

T - The taste is a mix of sweet barleywine, mild barrel presence, fruity brett, musky funk, and perhaps a faint touch of cider vinegar. Like a dried out version of DDBA.

M - Heavy, medium-full body, with lower carbonation. Very chewy mid-palate before drying out and becoming quite oaky in the finish. Some alcohol warmth, but not as boozy as the base beer.

D - Odd stuff, and I get the sense the brett presence in this batch is fairly young, especially in comparison to the batch Shane reviewed 15 months ago. It's definitely a sipper like DDBA, and I don't think the brett addition really improves things. If you've got a hard-on for bretted English beers, then give this a shot but otherwise largely unessential.

Pour from Evan at Hamilton's, thanks!

A: Reddish amber with a substantial white head.

S: Apples and vinegar with some caramel. Oak accompanies toasted malt and a light tartness.

T: Bready malt base with a healthy dose of vinegar and accompanying oak. Apple is pronounced and there's an insistent acetic acidity. Apple vinegar finish with a lingering acidity.

M: Lower medium body with lower moderate carbonation.

Overall: A solid variation on a good beer. A bit more vinegar in the flavor than I like, though.
