12oz bottle dated 11/12/12 – standard pint glass

A: 805 pours a lighter shade of caramel with fine clarity and a minute cap of fizzy white. Bouncy bubbles knock out much chance of a retaining head. Pretty minimal stick down the glass with just a few light runners and dots.

S: Aromas are real grassy and a touch herbal with a firm grainy malt character. There is a bit of a sharp tangy yeast biting at the nose as well. Nothing great but pleasant overall.

T: Tastes of grassy hay with some sour orange tang and a bit of dried herbals. There is a dominant grainy malt featured with some yeasty bread and a soft caramel sweetness. Pilsner malt with some wheat perhaps? Low moderate bitterness and sessionable by definition with no real alcohol presence. Not quite your typical Blonde Ale but still somewhat pedestrian. Comes off more like a hefe or a pale-wheat even.

M: The mouthfeel is light and frothy with a nice carbonated spritz. There is a slight tart pucker to the palate towards the finish with a great drying and a snappy crisp.

D: Light, crisp, and sessionable. I could see this as being a brew for the masses. I actually thought more of a light hefe or pale-wheat beer when consuming this so it does differentiate from other Blondes on the market. Definitely highlights a grainy malt bill.

I do get how this beer falls into FW’s lineup nicely however I would have appreciated something a bit bolder and hoppier to rep the 805. While well crafted this is fairly mediocre.

Bottles 2/16/16; poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass.

L- light amber/blonde in color, crystal clear with a fluffy white head that slowly dissipates into a thin lacing. A great looking beer.

S- malt forward aroma with notes of toasted bread, biscuit and grassy hops.

T- malted barley; more notes of bread and biscuit. subtle herbal hop bitterness keeps everything perfectly balanced. Refreshing, quenching and flavorful without being filling. An excellet yet difficult beer to brew. Well done

M- perfect mouthfeel. Slightly dry finish, almost zero aftertaste

O- probably the best "session ale" on the market. I rated this a bit higher to combat some of the moronic reviews here that think all beers should hop bombs. Pathetic that this beer does not get more respect. Recommended if you like beer that tastes like beer, not just hop tea.

I don't know why I've waited so long to review this beer since out here on the west coast this is the go to blond ale. Pours a nice amber/yellow with a quickly dissipating head. Smells slightly fruity and tastes of very light hops, more pleasant malts with slight citrus flavours. Goes down way too smooth. Prost!

Good carbonation. Wheat-grainy taste. Nice blond color. One of my faves.

Light crisp easy drinking with just a kiss of hopping. It's an exceptionally well made blonde ale from folks whose beers tend to be exceptionally well made. But it’s still a blonde ale, so, eh?

Better than pivo pils IMHO as far as FW lagers go. Light, smooth, just a touch of malt and hops, but mostly just easy drinking goodness. No off flavors at all, which is key for such a light style. Can't understand why some of the reviews are so low. If you don't like the style, don't rate the beer. Great beach, lawnmowing, etc beer.

It's a very drinkable beer. A slight sweet bite at first taste with a sweet aromatic finish. I really enjoyed this beer while visiting Cali this past weekend. A big plus to find a beer that is what it is, Just a decent local beer. It not usually a fan of blonde ales but this one makes me want to try more.
