Split with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a wonderful rich nearly black hire with a thin mocha head that left big big legs. Great, has to be double digit ABV.

S - Aromas of freshly baked fudge nut brownies, rich and dense. Loads of coconut thanks to the barrel, lots of rich chocolate with tons of complex layers. It's so fun and incredible.

T - Taste is like the nose with more fudge nut brownie, loads of bourbon, nice coconut from the barrel. Tons of chocolate rich bakers, chocolate bars, delicious raw coconut, strong bourbon that towards the end gets a bit got. Delicious.

M - Mouthfeel is my only knock...Not nearly as thick as I was expecting. Mostly on the thinner side , though the alcohol is hidden nicely.

O - Overall I really loved this beer, so rich and bourbon/coconut. Just love this beer, not quite as good as RareR DOS but still wonderfully done.

500 mL growler poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black with some transparency at the edges. Decent khaki head.

Smell - Strong boozy bourbon. Some coffee and chocolate roasted malt. Really intense barrel.

Taste - Bourbon is really intense. I understand that these are Chocolate Bourbon barrels from Pritchard's, but I don't get a ton of chocolate. Just a harsh bourbon and roasted malt.

Mouthfeel - Boozy. Medium body. Medium carbonation.

Overall - The barrel is intense. Too intense for me.

The color is dark brown but the body holds a deep black but for the edges near the foot of the glass. The head was fizzy and quickly fleeting.

The scent was huge coconut and caramel malt. Actually it's HUGE coconut and caramel malt.

The tastes are not overly diverse but what I get is thick and solid. Sweet butterscotch, Werthers candy, coconut and slight bourbony flavors caress the tongue in a velvety feel.

This beer was not the best I had at a tasting but it really worked for me at this particular time and impressed me greatly.

Big thanks to rudzud for sharing this one. RareR DOS was one of my fav beer all time, so hopefully this is close at least.

Pours very little head with little lacing, pitch black beer with long legs on the sides of the glass, swirling adds a nice dark creamy head that fades quickly.

Nose is awesome! Bourbon and vanilla and fudge! Layers of chocolate, dark choc, baker's, cocoa, fudge brownie, semi sweet and some caramelized flavors. Then a hint of booze with a nice barrel character, vanilla city and plenty of coconut to go with it, and the coconut even increases as it goes! Mild nice bourbon barrel as well.

Taste is lots more fudge brownie, but a bit lighter than i expected. Fluffy but not as thick chewy and fudgy as I expected. Some baker's choc, little creamy milk choc and cocoa. Then barrel, vanilla is a plenty again, light coconut and mild bourbon. Then more chocolate, little bitterness with mild earthy hop. Later on the taste a hot bourbon and mild warming booze start to come through. FInish just coats the mouth and never goes away, more coconut, vanilla, and bourbon dark fudge, little bitterness and semi sweet milky chocolate, tasty.

Mouth is med ot heavier bod, not as thick and fudgey as I expected, lighter but decent carb, mild warming booze.

Overall nice, good fudge and chocolate, nice vanilla bourbon and coconut barrel flavors, but a bit too thin overall somehow, although the booze is hidden well. Still a delicious beer, just doesn't live up to the hype as something like RareR DOS.
