Bomber pour at a bottle share. I actually had to get multiple pours of this because I loved it so much.

Coffee flavor and aroma pop and notes of vanilla, chocolate and nuts are all present. The body was rich and almost gooey, very much on point.

Everything about this beer stood out from the crowd of other notable beers.

Opened this bad boy to celebrate our decision to move to Tampa. Plus it's Tampa Craft Beer Week. Aroma is intense coffee, cocoa, and oak. It's divine. Chocolate covered coffee cake. Flavor follows it up well with added chocolate and lactose notes. A touch less intense coffee than the nose, but may be due to the half year of age on it. Barrels add nice layer. Finishes with some sweet notes. Body is so damn creamy. Really outstanding and looking forward to getting to try more of this on the regular when we move out there.

Was lucky enough to trade for this recently to complete my tasting of all 4 Pallet beers by cycle! This one for me was very delicious but compared to the other 3 ranks it 3rd behind Pallet 1 and 2 and followed by 3.

Got this one from dboon in a recent care package. Cheers!

From a bomber into a snifter
DOS in whisky barrels blended with Mostra Coffee

APPEARANCE: A dark brown, almost black pour yields a 2+ finger, thicker, creamier, light mocha colored head with great retention. Clear black body with no real carbonation evident. Almost the same as Pallet 1 but not quite as thick. Head slowly fades to a full wisp. A ring and faint, splotchy wisp remain until the end and leave touches of lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Lots of roasted coffee, sweet vanilla cream, milk chocolate, cacao and roasted barley on the nose. Hints of oak as well. Minimal bourbon in the back. Like it, but the barrel could be a touch more forthcoming.

TASTE: Roasted coffee and roasted malts up front, with some oak, vanilla and sweet cream as well. Flavorful start. A touch of heat at the swallow before a bold and lingering aftertaste of oak, a touch of whisky, sweet vanilla, some roasted barley, cacao and bitter pure chocolate and coffee as well. Lingers nicely for sure.

PALATE: Fuller body and low levels of carbonation. Semi-creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes slightly sticky. No heat lingers. Thicker and heavier body though too little carbonation. It ends up flat in the glass after it sits for a bit. I’m all for lower levels of carbonation but this is a touch too low for me.

OVERALL: Very nice overall. Nice coffee character and the barrel, while mild, lends a helping hand as well. It ends a little flat so a bit more carbonation might, but still, this one is enjoyable and well worth tracking down if you can find one. Thanks again for the Cycle stuff dboon. They were all very much enjoyed.

Black wth tan head. Nice retention.

Reminds me of bcs coffee. Great roast and bourbon flavor. Nice vanilla and oak notes. This is a great variant of rare dos. Well done. Not overly roasted. Smooth. Chocolate, coffee, and bourbon.

Pitch black color. The nose is basically all smooth coffee with a little but if barrel. The taste starts out coffee but quickly changes to a non sweet chocolate. The feel is smooth chocolate that is amazing. Overall a very awesome beer.

Viscous body, heavy Hershey syrup chocolate with a bit of a dark chocolate nuance, dark but non-bitter coffee in the finish. Aroma is a bit muted but still rich with chocolate and coffee. Not a lot of complexity here but very tasty.

650ml bottle, served in a stemless wine glass.

Pours a dark brown body, nearly black, opaque with a rich frothy offwhite head, one finger, minimal retention, not much lacing. Smells of rich cocoa and coffee bean, tons of dark chocolate and fudge, a bit of whiskey, dark malt. Flavour is a pleasantly intense cocoa and coffee combination supplemented with a slight smoky dry whiskey flavour, oak, dark chocolate malt, no char, mild roast. Mouthfeel is fuller medium bodied, lower carbonation, very smooth without much heat. Very tasty stout with a lot of character to it. Not a ton of depth, but what it brings is great. Solid body as well.

Pours a thick black beer with a minimal head. Nice roasted chocolate coffee smell. Nice thick mouthfeel and tastes of rich dark coffee with chocolate after tones. Barrel aged taste blends well with the rest of the beer. Well done.

Bottle received in a recent trade.

This one pours a fairly dark, inky looking black, with a very small head, and a little bit fof lacing.

This has an absolutely staggering coffee aroma on it, it's actually absurd how much coffee there is here. The coffee smells roasty, chocolatey, and slightly fruity. There's a little bit of bourbon, and some very slight roasted malt, but this all coffee all the time.

This is possibly the most coffee forward beer I've ever had, it definitely seems like it's blended with cold brew coffee, or something like that, rather than actually brewed with coffee. As such, it's a coffee bomb, but a delicious one at that. The coffee is rich creamy and delicious, chocolatey and dark fruity mostly, with some slight chocolate syrup flavors, the tiniest bit of roasted malt, and a little bit of bourbon. This almost blends the line between beer and coffee- there were times it didn't even taste like beer, honestly. But if we're judging it based on how it tastes, and against other coffee stouts, it's practically king.

This is fairly thick bodied, not syrupy or motor-oil esque, though, with a lower level of carbonation.

This is the definition of decadent. It simultaneously represents everything great and terrible about the beer scene today all in one non-descript bottle. It's almost not beer. I can't help but praise how delicious it is, though.

Flavor is super smooth coffee without any bitterness or burnt roast. Has a light bourbon element to the flavor as well. Light carbonation stays in the background. Pours a 1/2 inch foam. Dark brown color.
Overall, very good.

Huge vanilla! Some coffee, hazelnuts, roasted malts and black cherries. Hint of bitter dark and creamy milk chocolate and alcohol. Lower carb, medium thin mouthfeel and dry finish. Good balance of flavors. Real good.

Pour is black with a tan head. Nose has some roasted coffee, overly sweet, fairly ashy and very little rich maltiness. Flavor is a touch cleaner, lots of coffee, still too sweet, very little actual malt flavor, overly ashy but the coffee helps to marry with some of that and make it more drinkable than the pirate bomb. Full bodied, thin in the finish, a hint oily, soft carb

I love a lot of cycle stouts. This isn't as good as pallet 1 or Thursday but it's a damn good coffee stouts with the chocolate flavor that adds a nice touch. As always very thick

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Black body with a small mocha head. Rich coffee and fudge aroma. Boozy. Taste is sweet and fudgy, Coffee takes over and dominates through the finish. Sweetness lingers as well. Medium body. Doesn't seem as rich and thick as other DOS variants. Really nice coffee flavor.

Pours Wesley Snipes black with a head you wish your wife would give you. Smells of vanilla, bourbon, and rich mahogany. Coffee forward to taste. Vanilla lingers. You want this beer.

Pours mocha black with a dissipating half finger dark kahaki head. Aromas of brown sugar, wood, cinnamon, light vanilla notes, and chocolate. Oddly, I don't pick up much coffee in the nose. However, the coffee is finally picked up in the flavors along with dark chocolate and a hint of whiskey. This beer could have been better with a thicker mouthfeel as it is relatively thin which gave it a somewhat watery mouthfeel. Overall, a solid beer!

The beer is not watery. CW 16/17 Darkness all have thinner bases than this beer. It feels thin if drank too cold. Coffee in this is pretty spot on, reminds me of 2013 BCBCS with a slightly thinner mouthfeel. Think of this as DCB DOS with Coffee
