One of my favorite beers as of late along with Foolery. This is a perfect stout with great coffee and barrel flavors that work very well together and don't overpower one another nor thw base beer but work in perfect coca-cola harmony. Not that there are cola flavors...it's just an old cultural reference. Anyway, three cheers for good beer and life.

650 mL bottle. Black. Smells of strong coffee. Molasses. Some bourbon. Intense. Tastes of rich coffee and chocolate. Fudge. Bourbon is stronger in the flavor. It’s intense in the back end. Heavy. Boozy. The coffee cuts the sugars and the intensity of the bourbon nicely. Not as strong on the bourbon, but has a really nice coffee flavor.

Aroma is impressive. Coffee dominates there and in the flavor. As with brunch weasel, though, it's like espresso sludge combined with 90% cacao chocolate. Too acrid for my taste, but the oak and bourbon--and the body of the base--right the ship enough. I'm following it up with a kbs 2014, which is thinner and sweeter (in a welcome way) and obviously less coffee forward. A huge beer. Much better at room temp for me.

2016 bottle drank in a snifter on 7/14/2016

Really nice creamy offering. The oak was very present but the coffee was really potent. Near too potent as the bourbon came through only a slightly and after warming. Bold dark roast coffee and coffee beans. A chewiness to this I don't love, but overall a fantastic beer.

Medium oily pour. Not much head retention, and no lacing.

Big coffee smell. Not much else.

The taste is amazing. Fantastic coffee and bourbon. Very nice. Mild alcohol bite on the end.

Smooth mouth feel, moderate carbonation.

This was the second time I've had this beer. Better than the first. Really enjoyed it.
