Appearance: Pours dark with a one-finger beige head that fades quickly but leaves some spots

Smell: Chocolate and espresso with undertones of vanilla, caramel and oak

Taste: Chocolate forward with espresso tones developing; earthy coffee arrives in the middle, along with Bourbon, caramel and vanilla; nicely balanced in the finish

Mouthfeel: Full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: After well over a year in the bottle, the coffee still shines through; a great beer

22oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a deep black color with a one-finger foamy white head that has short retention

S- huge earthy coffee espresso notes with undertones of mocha fudge, vanilla cream, caramel, oaky wood & a spicy peppery note to close it out

T- dark mocha fudge gives big chocolate notes up front that mixes with herbal and earthy coffee. Mid-palate gives some bourbon notes, along with caramel and vanilla. The finish gives bold espresso notes and lingers of mocha

M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and finish

O- my favorite coffee variety of the set, the Sumatra coffee works well with the base beer

Look - thick and dark, non translucent, no head

Smell - bourbon right out of the bottle, followed by coffee, then muted

Taste - dark coffee, not too roasty though which is just fine by me, strong bourbon

Feel - medium mouthfeel

Overall - a good / decent two dimensional bourbon / coffee stout that I enjoyed drinking - nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either.

Slick oily black with almost no visible carbonation on the head...except maybe the faintest, thinnest of mocha rings.

We did a 3rd Anniversary horizontal, and this one came out on the bottom, due to its overly acidic sharp coffee and a roasted malt that came across as metallic. The body was also the thinnest, coming off as watery with a dry chew. All of this really exacerbated the already hot bourbon.

Needless to say, the "DRINK FRESH!" was not adhered to by my fellow bottle-sharers, and as such this probably suffered for it, but nonetheless, no enjoyable sips were had of this one.

Dark black, no head retention, leaving lacings.
Nose is a lot of coffee, dark chocolate, slight booziness, dark dried fruits,
Taste: sweetness, smooth coffee, dark chocolate, wood. not harsh at all.
Slightly oiled texture
Very well balanced, reminds me of BA Damon from Hill Farmstead.

Opened today at an epic bottle share are Fremont Brewing.

The beer pours thick, blackish brown color with pretty decent head retention and considerable lacing. On the nose, there's considerable molasses, along with coffee, dark chocolate. light leather and vanilla. There's an underlying roasty quality as well that adds to fun in the aroma profile. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this fairly sweet stout, with beer displaying a great soft, plush mouthfeel. There's a bit of an odd bitter component on the finish, almost as of there's some coffee grounds remaining in the bottle (there clearly isn't). Nevertheless, this is still a pretty tasty BA stout, and the alcohol is otherwise well integrated into the flavor profile.

Very nice, tasty beer from the folks at Cycle Brewing.

This was kind of like a Bourbon County Coffee lite. Smell is great, tastes really good, and just a tad thinner than I would consider ideal. Overall a great BA coffee stout
