Pours velvety dark chocolate to produce one-half inch of dark chestnut, pancake batter head. The head drops to a thin blanket within a few minutes, leaving no lace on a Kilkenny pint glass. The beer is dark brown, nearly black,
The aroma causes one to imagine roasted malt in dishwater. Some coffee can be detected.
The beer is sweet with mild bitterness. Chocolate fades to a mild finish that quickly returns before facing completely.
Light carbonation lifts the full body to a smooth cotton texture. Alcohol is well controlled.
Aside from the aroma, this is a pleasant Stout, but it falls well short of "Imperial". I enjoyed it while relaxing after work.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, wood, and a hint of chocolate. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong roasted malt, sweet malt, wood, hint of hop, slight chocolate, and slight alcohol. Overall, weak appearance, but decent aroma, good body, blend, and complexity.

Big chocolate aroma.
Flavor is slightly sweet initially, then more roasty and earthy, with a lightly bitter bite in the finish. Not something I'd pay that price for again.
