Pours with a sweet haze, deliberate or not. Not completely opaque. Big head of cream colored foam that fell well.

Nose is mango and a fruity sweetness from passion fruit. Lightly herbal. Spice form hops, hop pepper and cracker malt. Drinks like a tradtional hop bomb IPA. Lots of fruit but not heavy from a bitter hop mouthfeel. It does however have an IPA strength bitterness. It's also light silky and juicy. The dominant citrus taste in the finish is grapefruit juice. A little abv also peppers the finish. The bitterness is strong but the body of the beer is soft. There is a little juicy sweetness. A light smooth touch from malt.

Light to drink and refreshing.

Does it meet the style in appearance. In this beer I had a range of stuff in it from small to pretty big chunks. In some beers the stuff falls out fine like four by the end of the glass. These were varying degrees of what I think is protein and fruit pulp. In the last pour I held back the last 2 ounces to see if there was sediment. 1st pour no sediment, 2nd big sediment. The last pour did have chunks in it. That is what these are called. Bigger than sea monkeys not as flakey as snow globes. Was darn delicious too.

The appearance was terrible by any standard with the big chunks in it.

A: The beer is very hazy pale light yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface in the center of the glass and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of mangos and passionfruit are present in the nose along with slight hints of funk.
T: The taste follows the smell, having light to moderate flavors of mangos and passionfruit (with any fruity sweetness) and a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the tropical fruit aromas and flavors in this beer but it wasn't as bitter and crisp compared to most other IPAs.

A: Pours a cloudy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and faint honey + apricot highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy white head that reduces to a couple of medium sized medium thick patches surrounded by a large patch of the thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of slightly sweet grainy malts underneath moderate aromas of tropical/mango and tropical/passionfruit with just a light aroma of citrus/grapefruit hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of cereal grain malts with a light amount of grainy + caramel sweetness. That is quickly overtaken by moderate to strong flavor of tropical/mango and tropical/passionfruit. Finally there is a light to moderate flavor of citrus/grapefruit and tropical/pineapple hops in the finish which contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness which does not linger for too long.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Very enjoyable and obviously a very juicy/fruity IPA. Easy to drink and refreshing with well hidden alcohol. I would definitely enjoy another of these if I came across it again.

White head. Pale yellow color.

For being brewed with fruit, this beer is a letdown. The NE haze bombs get more fruit in their ipas without even using any. This one has some, but it is very watery in comparison. It also has a sour like flavor in the back end.

A bit disappointed with this one.

12 oz can-BBE Nov 2017 on the bottom

Pours hazed lighter pineapple fuice, moderate eggshell head, lasts a bit, and leaves moderate low bits of lacing.

Tropical fruit nose

Super fruity, just about right on the bitter/sweet scale. with waves of bright grapefruit juice, biting and tasty....even getting notes of the advertized (on the can) mango, and passion fruit...bright, light, fruity and tasty...nice take on the NE style IPA from Stillwater...straight out of Connecticut...kind of surpirsed by the low ratings people give this one...delicious in my book and well worth a try

12 oz pour on tap into a tulip glass.

A: Very slight small filmy white head, but the pour was to the brim. Body is a bright yellow almost orange with a hazy body.

S: Mango, honey, cantaloupe, a little pine

T: lots of mango, pine, grapefruit zest comes out pretty heavily on the end.

M: Good fuller body on this IPA with a little bit of creaminess.

O: this beer isn't bad at all. It really doesn't stand out too much but it is a very solid beer. I wouldn't look for it, but if it were there I wouldn't pass it up.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky gold color with a small white head. The aroma is full of tropical fruit. The taste follows the nose.

Stillwater's Nu-Tropic, likely a play on nootropic, is a solid IPA with subtle notes of mango and passion fruit. A hint of fruity, but not a fruity beer. Gotta be wet hopped. Good stuff!
