Brewed with rice and designed to mimic the subtle and drinkable flavors of sake, this low alcohol saison is the softer side of Stillwater. Brewed with Citra, Hallertau Blanc and Sterling.

Big white head on top of a pale yellow, bubbly saison. Head laces nicely down the glass. Smells enticing. Rice up front. A little citrus, flowers, lemons. Just a touch of hops. Extremely pleasant tasting.

Cloudy amber appearance with a lasting white head.
Carbonation is definitely medium with the body maybe being a hair thing bit a great feel overall.
Aroma is a great mix of grain, cereal, plum, sake, floral earthy hops, along with buckwheat honey.
Taste is dry but not painfully so with it otherwise representing the aroma almost exactly. Has a mild bitterness that lingers in the finish as well as does the buckwheat honey.
Its a great beer, interesting and original. I scored it high as I thought it deserved it as well as delivering on its unusual flavor profile

Flower, clove, lemon peel, hop, rice/rice wine/sake. Light body, low acidity, the graceful sweetness makes it super easy-going. Delicate and inviting.

16oz can
Pours nearly three fingers of white head into my Willi glass. Retention is average and the head mostly fades within a couple minutes, though a small piece lingers for a while longer. Lacing is solid. Body is a cloudy straw yellow, with what seems to be a healthy amount of bubbles coming up. Looks very nice
Nose has some lemony hops and a subtle yeasty clove that comes out more with time. Smells very dry indeed. Not super complex, but it’s nice and seems refreshing.
You definitely get that clove on the flavor, underlying noble hops, not really any lemon. The flavors come through very clear, with a good amount of weight to them. Overall it’s very clean and tasty.
Carbonation is on the higher side. Lighter bodied, but not thin at all. Not super dry by any means, the esters certainly pad that a little bit, but it finishes crisp and well attenuated. Bitterness is low, but shows up briefly in the finish and then subtly lingers. Overall a great mouthfeel that ties things together very well.
Drinkability is wonderful, very refreshing.
Overall the beer comes together very nicely and it’s quite enjoyable.

As with all my beer gradings, “look” is a reflection of how much I enjoy the beers graphic design + packaging :)
