Pours golden yellow with light head.

Smells spicy and slightly citrusy .

Tastes of spices (clove, pepper) with some citrus with some slight bitterness in the aftertaste.

Nice drinkability goes down easy.

Im a huge saison fan and this was a decent one.

Bottled Early September 2013 (actual date number rubbed off). Poured into a 3F Wine Glass.

A - Hazy pumpkin with a one finger white head and solid lacing.

S - Citrusy esters, biscuit malt and a touch of pine in the background.

T - Vibrant orange peel and citrus hops. Farmhouse esters take a back seat. The background has some slight biscuit notes, alight alcohol presence and a touch of funk. No acidity.

M - Light, drying, refreshing and well carbed.

O - Another great, new world hopped farmhouse. Edges out Tank 7 for me by a nose. Stateside's citrus forward hop profile just really pairs well with their yeast strain.

12oz bottle into a Teku glass
bottled on: 4/12/13

A: Pours a very hazy dark straw yellow with some orangish hints. 2 fingers width of bright white head builds and then slowly recedes down to nothing. Zero lacing.

S: Yeasty, spicy, and citrusy. Clove, pepper, bready yeast, orange peel, lemon zest, herbaceous/grassy characters. Very nice.

T: Spicy with clove and pepper, orange peel, a bit of barnyard grass, subdued hop bitterness.

M/D: Pretty full bodied for the style, but with a nice heavy carbonation. Drinkability is good.

O: Saison's can be hit or miss for me. Id classify this one as a hit. Nothing exceptional but good nonetheless. Cellar Door is much better IMO though.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Pours a hazy straw color, one finger of sudsy head, no lacing.
S - Lots of belgian yeast and spice, clove, apple, orange rind, real earthy undertones.
T - Belgian yeast floods your palate, and gives way to an abundance of spices, some mild hoppiness, and a very deep lingering bitterness.
M - Thick, a bit too much on the spice.
O - Refreshing when absolutely cold, but as it warms up, it harshens up too. Not the best, but not really the worst either. Its a bold saison.

Pours a hazy light orange color sports a big fluffy off white head.

Aroma is light flowery notes with some spice on top of tropical fruits. Not any real funk in the nose.

Taste is light zesty notes mostly lemon on grainy malt base. Plenty of good spicy notes mingled through out. Finish is lingering tropical fruits good spice notes maybe hints of funky notes.

Mouthfeel is on light side with medium peppy carbonation.

Overall its a pretty good saison enjoyable worth having again and again when the saison modes hits.

Poured from a bottle into a Duvel tulip. The pour is a hazy, appetizing shade of orange with two inches of fine white head. Retention is average. The nose is a nice blend of sweet and flowery aromas. I get faint notes of tropical fruit and herbal, grassy notes as well.

The beer is medium-bodied and has a very traditional flavor. Up front, the grassy flavors promised by the nose are well-represented. There's a graininess that sits underneath a bouquet of sage, lavender, and dry flowers. At first, I thought the fruity sweetness promised by the nose would fail to materialize, but it surprises you be coming on at mid-palate as the flavors develop. At the back of the mouth, the fruit flavors become pithy and zest-like as lemon and tangerine notes form, drying out the finish and leaving a nice lingering flavor behind.

I've been going out of my way to try several Saisons this summer and this is one of the better ones I've had. It is herbal and flowery like a good Saison should be, but it brings a nice subtle fruitiness to the game that makes a wonderful complement to the more earthy flavors and set it apart from some others I have tried. This is an excellent beer.

Enjoyed the Cellar Door quite a bit, let's see how this one stacks up. I see this one most commonly, hopefully it follows the path of Cellar Door.

A- Poured from the 12oz bottle into a tumbler with a light golden yellow body, pretty much clear until I get to the last few ounces, slightly hazy. A nice foamy and frothy white cap builds up on the beer to about one finger and retains pretty well. Spotty lace from a head that eventually dies down to a small ring and cloud.

S- Aromatic from a few feet away while pouring. Fairly reminiscent of DuPont right away, a balanced yeast driver aroma. Lemon zest, barnyard grass, Belgian yeast spice and some spicy floral feel.

T- Lemongrass and zest leads the way here with strong flavors of apple (not acetylaldehyde), earthy spices, floral, coriander, bread and barnyard/grass. Some more specific hints include pear, white grape, nutmeg, clove, spicy hops, citrus, banana, light cracked grains and a slight tartness. A big list but most of those are subtle and Saison yeasts bring everything but the kitchen sink.

MF- Light, medium-dry body with a high-end spritzy carbonation. A nice light tartness and just a small hint of bitterness in the finish.

More citrus, fruit and floral forward than the Cellar Door for me and reminds me of the classic strain from DuPont in many ways. Stillwater is brewing some damn good Saisons it seems. I gotta track me down some Debaucher to review because that beer was amazing on-tap a few months back.

I poured this from a bottle into an oversized wine glass.

A: Poured a lovely, cloudy golden yellow.
Light cream-colored, bubbly head.

S: Citrusy, floral, earthy fragrance. Tart.

T: Fruity. Dry. Kinda floral. Spices.
A little peppery. Hoppy in a subdued way.

M: Fizzy on the tongue. Refreshing. Medium bodied.

O: It was good and flavorful. Very unique.
Just hoppy enough to mix with the interesting
combination of floral, spice, and citrus flavors.
