Collaboration with Brouwerij Emelisse

A collaboration with one of Holland's best craft breweries. As a nod to Dutch culture and a little sense of humor, we brewed this one with toasted oats & appelstroop.

Well, this beer is just punny....

Ok.

Pours a rustic amber, slightly brown. Little head, but I poured it that way, and was probably too cold right out of the fridge.

Sweet, malty aroma, but not overwhelming. This no American version of anything. Soft caramel, baked. A bit nutty. Nice earthy spice and some green pine

Flavor is lovely. Nice sweetness with a touch of spice. Earthy and caramel. A gentle but noticeable wave of bready yeast comes and goes. Finishes sweet and then dry. Very nice. I guess it's a Man Eater....Hey O

Appearance - murky crimson body with slight white head

Smell - caramel, apple, pine

Taste - caramel, apple, pine, hop bitterness , green tea

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, high carbonation, slightly sweet, hop bitterness at the back end for balance, flavors linger

Overall - nice amber ale that I enjoyed, having said that, I wouldn't pay the asking price of $6.75 for a single of this

Price Point - $6.75/ 11.2 oz single ( didn't pay this price, got it 'free' after buying a shitload of beer from Havana House in OH )

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- hazy deep caramel body glows below a bubble sticky thin cream head and is supported by strands of microbubbles that trail up the sides.

S- The butterscotch note leads to a sweet malt note that finishes with a caramel hint and a faint earthy oat quality.

T- The caramel sweetness blends with a herbal bitterness which lingers a bit after a dry finish. There is a slight spicy phenol that comes through as it warm along with some butter hints that are not quite diacetyl and some raw oat flavors aswell.

M- The medium mouthfeel is slightly chewy as it opens up and no alcohol heat is noticed.

O- The nice depth of sweetness is balanced by some mellow bitterness and a crisp finish is balanced by a oat fullness in the mouth.

A - Amber-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. Fades medium.

S - Sweet caramel malts, grapefruit and citrus hops, oats, apple, caramelized sugars, touch of bready malts.

T - Sweet caramel malts, grapefruit and citrus hops, mild bitterness, apple, brown sugar, caramelized sugars, oats, bready malts, bit of pine hops, bit of Belgian yeast.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet and brown sugary finish.

D - Nicely balanced. The apple and syrupy flavors are a bit different but well balanced.

Pours a hazy orange-ish to brown in color with a small white head. In the aroma, faint green apple sweetness. In the taste, faint green apple sweetness and a note of apple tartness. A smooth and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dryer small yeasty tartness in the aftertaste. A nice mellow tartness and small fruity presence, quite enjoyable.
