Pale golden pour, no foam, a few stray bubbles. Translucent; not totally clear. Earthy scent, with a hint of alcohol. Strong "Belgian" tangy taste, but fairly dry, not very fruity or sweet. Hoppy, slightly bitter finish with a zing from carbonation. Fairly "dry" mouthfeel, light, bubbly, pleasant. Finish turns a little sour after a while. Overall, pretty pleasant with a few of the flavors a little off.

The woman I loved was from Baltimore. But like this beer, the love turned bitter, and the necklaces and scent were spectacular but thin and not long lasting. Too much alcohol, for a thin beer, and a very hoppy finish made for a short lived affair with this one. Could be an interesting summer chiller att about 6% ABV.9% just kills it.

To me this is nothing like a Belgian Ale. I've spent most of my adult life drinking St. Bernardus, Gulden Draaak and Kasteel, and this is nothing like that. This taste more of a double IPA than anything from Belgium. Very bitter but conceals it's high ABV very well.

A - beautiful hazy gold

S - spicy, clovey, crisp and slightly fruity

T - light fruitiness and hop citrus with balanced phenol action. some banana and cloves. nice dry, slightly tart finish.

M - bubbly and crisp

I think this is a nice representation of a belgian golden ale. Love the dry finish and the light mouthfeel. You'd never know this beer was 9%, until you had 2 or 3...
