Hazy pale gold beer with a giant white head that leaves a curtain of lacing behind. The aroma is funky with banana. lemon, hay and some sweetness. The taste is tart with banana, spiciness and a light sweetness that ends with a mild bitterness. Pretty solid low ABV beer.

Appearance: Pale golden, with huge white head and spotty lace.

Aroma: Malty grains, little more.

Taste: Sweetly malted, and I get very little of the funky, spicy saison character here somehow. Maybe my can was not so fresh? My take was more of a simple pale lager, with more grains and yeast taking over the flavor profile. I got some toasty, even toffee notes here. Not memorable or inviting at all. If I ever get my hands on a fresh can or on draft, I’ll update my review accordingly, but this one didn’t push the right saison buttons here at all.

12oz can. Served in a snifter glass.

Pours a slightly hazy, but mostly clear golden yellow body with a two finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing, thin collar that sticks around for a good while. Smells of lemon, esters, minerals, light bread, bit of earth, slight banana, light mustiness. Essentially a clean Brett saison. Very nice and refreshing aroma. Flavour is a crushable combination of light lemon tartness, esters, bread, the mineral-like Belgian yeast flavours, finishing with a light leather astringency that lingers for a while. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, on the lighter side, crisp and super refreshing on a hot day such as this one. Works great after a post-work bike ride. Light leathery bitterness on the finish. An overall solid, crushable canned saison that immediately inserted itself into the running for a spot in my regular refrigerator rotation.

12oz can poured into a tulip. The nose is pepper, lemon, banana, and cloves, somewhere between a hefe, lager, and saison. Pours a faintly hazy straw yellow with a meniscal head of clear/barely white foam that quickly dissipates to leave trace and rapidly dissipating lacing. Nosed from the tulip, the elements of lemongrass and pepper come through even more prominently - this beer has an excellent aroma. The palate opens with a sharp, almost tangy take on the yeasty, spicy Farmhouse profile, with emphatic notes of lemon, followed later by banana, pepper, and clove. The backend of the palate brings a nice quantity of Belgian yeast, but is accompanied too by a somewhat over-malted lager-esque base that detracts from the its opening. The body is crisp (good carbonation) and refreshing (very light bodied), but as the beer sits on the tongue and the malt base begins to seep in, that lightness starts to become more cheap than refreshing (owing in large part to the way it interplays with the disappointing latter half of the beer's flavor profile).

There's an excellent interpretation of the Saison style in here somewhere, but the lagery backend of this beer (and the way it mingles with the light body) ultimately makes this beer more a respectable bargain-priced Farmhouse rather than something truly exciting.

This beer pours a hazy golden straw color with a huge, fluffy, bright white head. Retention is minimal and there are random chunks of lacing. Smell is barnyard funk, rubber tires, fresh cut grass, citrus and a peppery spiciness. Taste is the same. Feel is light and crisp. Overall this beer is OK, but I prefer more heavily hopped saisons that are lighter on funk. The feel makes it very drinkable, but the flavors do not.

Hazy in appearance with scents of lemon, grass, dandelion, peppercorn and musty basement. Taste is tangy with lemon and pine leading the way followed by a slight musty and funky flavor. Mouthfeel is crisp . . . way to crisp for this style in my opinion. Overall I would have expected better from Stillwater but I see what they are going for and it is sure to please some.

Hazy yellow with off white head that has a bit of retention but great lacing. Citrus, pepper spice, grain, and citrus pith in the aroma. Flavor follows the nose. So easy to drink. Could definitely be a daily beer.

This is hands down better than almost any pale lager out here, light but robust in aroma and taste. Some citrus qualities mix well with the cereal grains. Nice fluffy head and lots of sticky lacing. This is an everyday drinking beer, perfect for summertime and picnics.

L: Pours a very light yellow, slightly opaque. HUGE fluffy white head. Good lasting power. Lots of tiny bubbles seen rising. Not a bad start...

S: Sweet. Floral. Light straw. Some citrus notes.

T: Minimal flavor stands out. Quite muddled. Kept giving this beer a try, but just couldn't get a clean picture of what was going on with this one.

F: Light bodied. Cleansing.

O: Not enjoyable. I had a six pack, so I tried to like it. But, just never got a clear picture of what this beer was attempting.

On tap. Hazy yellow color with an impressive head that recedes quickly and leaves a small ring of lacing. Aroma of fruity esters, pepper, and floral hops. Body of slightly sour yeast, bright floral hops, pepper, and spices with a pleasant hoppy finish. Medium body and high carbonation.
Well spiced and balanced farmhouse that lays down a complex body. Very nice and refreshing year rounder. The yeast and hops stand out but don't take over. Also a wide distribution.

Pours a finger of head on a clear light golden body.
The aroma is light grain.
The taste is mild lemon bitterness and water.
The texture is softer.
It lakes real flavor.

12oz. can served in a tulip. Pours a translucent straw gold with a loose, one inch, cream-colored head that sizzles and pops as it slowly recedes into a thin soapy slick that coalesces around the edges. Nose is fairly subdued - cloves and a grassy quality as well as a hint of biscuit or cracker towards the back. Taste is earthy/herbal up-front but the biscuity malts dominate and the clove is well-hidden. Mouthfeel is light in body with an assertive, prickly carbonation. Overall, somewhat dull and the carbonation is a bit too much, approaching gassy. I wonder how it would taste on the beer engine though ...

12 oz. can poured into tulip. Pours a hazy yellowish golden color with big white head. Aromas of fruitiness, yeast, little bit of funkiness. Taste follows with an earthy, fruity, spicy and herbal notes. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, I enjoyed this one. Solid saison from Stillwater, and would recommend to at least try this once.

12oz can with no visible date

A — Pours a light and clear deep yellow color into the tasting glass. Light white head tries to form but fades and leaves little behind.

S — Smells of light yeast and fruit, somewhat estery and bright. Grainy undertone.

T — Tastes of light fruits and yeast, some balancing pilsner malts and yeast underneath, though it errs towards the saison side of things, its more of a lager than anything.

M — Medium bodied, though still light and bubbly.

O — Pretty good overall, though not really sure what style this falls into. It's too light for a Saison and too heavy to be a good Pils.

Cloudy yellow tinged amber. Nose presents some spicy yeast phenols and some floral hops, just a hint of fruitiness. Taste is a touch grainy up front and dry with some pepper in the finish. Highly attenuated with a medium light body and a prickly high carbonation. Quite nice.

Had this on tap at Hammerheads. Color is a transparent pale yellow. I have to say there wasnt much flavor, tasted a bit like an adjunct lager...very mild malt flavor. Somewhat harsh mouthfeel.

Poured a cloudy gold body with two finger head and dies slow and left a lace ring. The aroma is mildly citric hopped and peppery spiced with hints of yeast. Smooth, fuller body, has a touch of funkiness and crispness in finish. Beer balances light spice notes, citric (mostly lemon) notes and has a minor sweetness to it at times (I don't get this sweetness on every sip). Easy going summer drinking saison.

Pale gold in color, this fizzy, clean tasting saison has aromas of green pepper and candy. The taste is very clean, with a bit of lemon, and an almost salty quality. Great summer sessionable beer.

On tap quick review:
Looks quite nice, hazy yellow gold with a large amount of white fluffy head.
Smell seems farmhouse-ish in nature, little green grass notes.

Taste is interestingly strange. I partially seems like a watery, but somehow decent session PA. There is a clay like base that hits me after a mildly lemon taste, upon which build an herbal, earthy bitterness that grows to the end, but never very strong. Somehow, though, the ending is quite enjoyable.

Very interesting brew. I'm still wondering how much I like it.

The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a lightly hazed light yellow color with a 1/2" white head that soon recedes to leave a small island of foam on the surface and a ring around the glass. Sipping creates scattered small patches of lacing.

The aromas include some light citrus, some spices and a bit of malt.

The flavors are peppery and spicy with bit of citrus and malt.

The mouth feel is on the light side of medium bodied with a modest amount of carbonation. The medium length finish begins with the fading of the spices to allow a bit of citric bitterness. There's a slightly prickly feel in the ending.

A nice easily drinkable beer and I'd be willing to have another. While I'm glad I had a chance to try this in the future I'll probably picking a few other Saisons in preference to this beer.

Great Saison - flavor of earth, spice and funk. Drinks easily definitely worth picking up or give a chance. Smooth - Would say just under medium to light light body.

LOOK: Initial pour is a nearly clear straw with a large rocky head. Great retention, the few inches of foam don't want to budge.

SMELL: Earthy, saison funk. Slight citrus, damp, musty basement, funk.

TASTE: Spicy Saison flavors, herbal also. Rosemary, Thyme and Thai Basil come to mind. Rustic yeast contributes to the pepper and slight funk. Mildly acidic, hops and yeast at work doing that part. Pretty light and refreshing.

FEEL: Light bodied, effervescent, with a lingering Saison flavor of earth, spice and funk. Drinks easily and could introduce those who aren't fond of the more herbal versions of this style to perhaps give it another chance.

OVERALL: Enjoyable Saison in a can. Has good flavor, light delicate body and goes down smoothly. Always an intriguing beer from Stillwater, this is no exception.

Poured from a 12OZ can into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a spicy aroma with a hint of citrus, pretty good
Appearance- This brew looks like a slightly darker version of Coors Light, thankfully this is deceiving
Taste- Has a grass and citrus flavor with maybe some pepper thrown in. not bad, every sip I took I enjoyed it more.
Palate- This is a light bodied beer with moderate carbonation and a nice thin feel.
Overall- This is a really good saison. It doesn't have an overwhelming flavor that some saison's do but I really enjoyed the flavor and character. I would drink this again.

A- Slightly murky straw colored with an eggshell white bubbly inch of head
S-Hay, pepper, pears, lemon
T- Hay, grain, slight spicy pepper tones, pear, slight lemon tartness to finish it up
M- light bodied, zippy carbonation, more bitter than I expected but works nicely
O- This is a tasty spin on a saison. I'd like a bit more yeast character to shine through but overall this was a balanced summertime supper. I'd love to have this available to drink on a porch/beach/after mowing a lawn
