A little bit of trick combined with a whole lot of treat, our spice infused Pumpkin Ale blends dark sugars, fresh pumpkin and a selection of memorable harvest spices that come together in a well balanced, medium bodied, rich, copper hued ale. With just enough sweet to balance out the spice, this is how we do pumpkin pie.

I got this pumpkin beer in a beer trade and it is one of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had.
Look: semi-clear amber with an inch white head.
Aroma: pumpkin and ginger, not too much
Taste: It is well balanced, toasty, and not too much pumpkin spice.
Feel: Medium body, quite drinkable. I tend not to like pumpkin beers but this one was fairly good.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a freind from work----Thanks Kevin.
This ale pours a nice chill hazed orange with a light head of quickly dissipating foam that settles to nothing. Nose is subtle and light with light cinnamon and nutmeg with hints of pumpkin. Flavors follow the nose with lightly herb touched pumpkin and subtle caramel malts settling on the back with a thin watery mouth feel that finishes dry. A drinkable brew that is not overly pumpkin-y but slightly watery. Not great, but not bad.

Pours a brilliant amber gold, producing a 1 inch tan head that dissipates quickly . The nose suggests pumpkin spices with a hint of molasses. The carbonation is low. While the body is medium, there is little flavor to speak of beyond a hint of cinnamon. The palate is very short. Rather uninteresting this "Pumpkin, Autumnal Ale Spiced Beer." Their labeling words set the expectation, but Rivertown fell short! I will avoid this in the future!

Tis' the day of all days for pumpkin beers, so I knew I had to end my night with this one this evening. Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a somewhat hazy, cloudy, medium amber/copper color with a white head that is only about an inch thick when first poured before it settles to a medium sized to thick ring lining the inside of my glass with some traces of surface foam and only very minimal lacing. Deep aromas of pumpkin, molasses, and cinnamon are all present along with some caramel malt sweetness. The taste is pretty much the same, with a good, strong pumpkin presence upfront. It is very nice that they used a lot of real pumpkins in this beer and the pumpkin pie spice is kept to a minimum here. This is followed by some cinnamon and molasses that blends nicely with the caramel malt sweet notes. A very minimal touch of hops round out the flavor profile here. I do with all the flavors were a bit stronger overall though, the flavor profile just doesn't pack quite as much of a punch as I would prefer. Has a crisp, smooth, slightly frothy, medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Not a bad beer at all all around here.

3 pack from Winter Haven ABC - good beer, but very subtle hints of pumpkin and spice - could have been an autumn ale for the lack of flavor there was. apparently the label has changed....
