Normally, the honey versions are pretty much the same thing. However, the GB with honey was special. One of the stand out batches I've had. Enjoyed multiple pours at shelton fest. It tasted very old for how young it was. Nice oak and funk, but still had a vibrant citrus flavor with 3f mineral notes all throughout. Cannot wait to revisit this one.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, blend°51, season 16/17, bottled on 27th September 2017. Served from a 3 Fonteinen lambic basket, and poured into a 3 Fonteinen gueuze glass.
Appearance: A nice clear golden orange colour with a one finger white head that had decent retention while leaving some nice lacing.
Aroma: Green apple, rhubarb, funk, slight cheese, wet wood, lemon, with a hint of honey.
Taste: Tart, light sour, apple, gooseberry, lemon zest, lime, earthy, damp wood, light funk, with an apple peel finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, with soft to moderate carbonation.
Overall: It was nice and enjoyable, but other than just slightly from the aroma, I do not get any honey directly from the flavour. In the end while it was good, I don’t think it improved on the original Golden Blend, which I thought was amazing.

750ml bottle, cork and caged. Blend No. 51 of Season 16-17. New/contemporary 3F tumbler glass.
Bright, slightly cloudy, orange copper body, one finger white head. Good retention and lacing.
Smell is massively tart lemon and acetic acidity. Big funk, leather and citrus zest. Wet oak. Cobwebs. Smells fairly dry and tart as well.
Flavour is a nice complex admixture of lemon, acetic acidity, white vinous character, leather, citrus peel, damp oak, earth. Big tartness- I feel like the honey fermented out in favor of pedio- which added a big tart component to it. It isn't as complex as 2011 or even 2014, but it is certainly full of flavour, funk and aggressive acetic tartness.
Medium bodied, good carbonation, relatively acetic and reasonably dry, good carbonation. Easy to take down a 750ml bottle solo despite its relatively aggressive tartness.

This is the first Golden Blend batch with honey. It is super light yellow in color, ok head. Aroma is like teh rgeular oude geuze. the flavor is very bright, acidic, and lemony. Very similar to Oude geuze and probably needs a bit more time in the bottle to be interesting.
