A 750ml corked and caged bottle, blend°12, season 19/20, bottled on 13th December 2019. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A lightly hazy strawberry pinkish red colour with a two finger beige head that had dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving some nice lacing.

Aroma: Tart, raspberry, cherry, oak, lemon zest, with a splash of honey.

Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, cherry, lemon, oak, with notes of vinegar.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Very drinkable with a nice blend of raspberry and cherry aroma and flavours. The honey wasn’t immediately noticeable except for a bit on the nose. But in the end, my preference is still the original Hommage.

Bottle: Poured a reddish color lambic with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of tart raspberry notes with some funky ester and some oak presence. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some sour raspberry notes and funky ester with some honey notes and some acidity is also perceptible. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Nice fruited lambic but maybe a tad too much acidity.

Exceptional. Dark pink reddish body. Fresh raspberries- both fruit sugars and tartness have made it through, with a touch of cherry skin. Light leathery funk, medium acetic acidity, not overwhelming. Medium body, light carbonation, fruit-forward. Yum!

Blend 60 of 17/18 with honey

Pink head that fades. Murky faded raspberry.

Not noticing the honey. Doesn’t add anything like it does with the gueuze blends. Tart and acidic. Lots of raspberries, but just overwhelming heartburn with this beer. Haven’t been a fan of hommage recently and this confirms. Was hoping the honey would smooth things out.

Cloudy ruby red, white bubble ring. So I found myself enjoying this, but not as much as the orignal, the honey smoothens out the body even more, but the funk is more subdued. In smell and especially taste, fruits still shine in both skins and jam, slightly more sweet. Get some hay and flower too, but again funk lacking, especially in taste. Feel is slightly heavier and smoother, but honestly felt like they messed with near perfection and gave us more of a wild ale feel than a lambic, though the finish is crisp and dry appropriately.

Appearance: red body with bone white head that quickly disappears to nothing.

Smell: fruit bomb. Light Drie Fontienen signature funk.

Taste: fruit bomb with great balance of the acidity/sourness. Hint of oak & not much funk.

Mouthfeel: medium body & moderately carbonated. Dry finish that is just right.

Overall: Incredible fruited lambic.
