Wonderful Aroma coming off the top. Let the beer do its thing and then shortly after poured into a snifter. Tart cherries, barnyard, hay, and spicy yeast on the nose. Taste of spicy yeast and horse blanket. Nice dry finish that really leaves your palate unscathed.

Date: 4/4/14
Location: Dicicco's Harrison
Glassware: Tulip
Appearance: Pours with a very fluffy white head that stays and stays with an 1/8th inch top. Orange to yellow in color with a very thick haze.
Aromatics: The first aromas come from the wild yeasts, totally mouthwatering sour. There is must, earth, and wood all together.
Flavor: The beer moves from sour to vinegary very quickly. The finish has several flavors from leather, to earth, to oak and forest from the wood.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is very smooth with very little viscosity. The beer moves from puckering to mouthwatering to tart very smoothly.

From a bottle in a Drie Fonteinen Geuze glass at Monks Cafe, Dec. 2012 Vintage

Appearance: has vigorous carbonation but a rapidly dying head

Smell: Funk upfront with hints of apple.

Taste: refreshing sourness, more tart than the Petrus Aged Pale I just had and with a more pleasing, complex funk. less green apple than Boon Oude Geuze.

Mouthfeel: high carbonation gives the beer sufficient body

Overall: AMAZING beer. far better than Tilquin and Boon's Geuzes.

Bottled on 12/5/12
Consumed @ Monks Cafe

A- pours a slightly hazy golden straw color with a big foamy white head that retains nicely long after the pour, leaving some bubbles around the rim

S- nice barnyard funk with notes of wet hay, Lemon peel, basement must, toasted oak

T- sharp and tart notes of lemon peel, peach mix with a funky musty yeasty goodness, earthy tones mix with wet hay and lead to a dry puckering finish, packed with flavor

M- medium body with light carbonation lead to a big foamy mouthfeel with a dry puckering finish

O- one of the best Gueuze that I've had, it's packed with puckering flavor and keeps you wanting more
