Best gueuze I've had, with just a prepostersouly awesome nose, evoking tropical fruit, earthy, dusty funk, and a whole host of other aromas I can't even put my finger on. Good and tart but never so much as to stop you from picking up interesting nuances of flavor as you go. This is one for the ages.

(Edit: after another couple bottles, this is clearly in my 5* category -- those rare beers that transcend the style, that ARE the style. I could wax rapturous on the virtues of this beer, but it's not necessary, really. Simply put, it's the embodiment of geuze and something every last beer drinker needs to experience.)

New to this so i'll keep trying more. Crazy oak tastes then sour. Over my head complex. Revisited this beer. What a difference a year makes. Great beer!!

Serving type: 12.7 oz bottle poured into a teku. Bottled: 2012, dec 5th.
A: first pour is yelow-orange, bright and clear with a nice big light head. Second pour is more orange and hazy as some yeast comes out in the pour. Same big head.
S: the best part of this beer. A wonderful refreshing sniff reveals a big nose of grassy funk, oak, and tart green apples with some nuances of wild berry and strawberry. Fantastic.
T: not overly sour with a good amount of carbonation. The oak really smooths this beer out. The green apples and grassy funk keep staying strong with a pleasantly dry finish.
M: refreshing, bubbly and dry.
O: I really enjoyed this beer. I would put this in my top 5 ever. Refreshing, complex and balanced. Worth the high price-tag
