Really dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has sweet malt notes with red fruits and some dry red wine. Taste is dry, malty, just slightly tart with wine notes. Medium body with medium to soft carbonation. Overall it's a really nice porter with an interesting tart twist.

I am barely a fan of the lambic. (Taken to the next level of age and sourness, I am no fan of the gueze.) So with me, it is safer to go the other direction (more sweet malt and less sour.) Zwet does that. So being of open mind, I like Zwet.Be. (But not above the average.)

While Zwet Looks OK, it Smells a bit like that wild-like lambic, but enough malt to keep me interested. And the Taste's initial attack is fine, but then the lambic sour starts playing notes that I don't associate with a porter and I like Zwet a little less. Yet in the finish, all seems to come together.

Overall, what we have here is a hybrid speaking the same language in its own tone.

Porter brewed with lambic yeast - relatively fresh bottle, just a few months old.

Appearance is a dark shiny black color. Two finger sudsy tan head dissipates slowly but never completely. Thin layer of residual foam remains with a bit of tan lacing. Completely opaque to light.

Smell has notes of a slight tartness, hints of a geuze like aroma, cocoa, smoked malts, and some dark fruit.

Taste follows the nose with notes of cocoa, slight tartness, cherry, white wine, and geuze that gives way to a dry, ashy smoked malt backbone. Lambic yeast is clearly present in this beer. As the beer warms the tartness becomes more prominent, takes on a more cherry like flavor and the smoked malts fade into the background.

Feel is medium bodied, slightly tart initially before finishing with a dry finish. Mild carbonation.

Overall this is a unique and interesting porter. The bottle I drank was pretty fresh and it tasted quite good - but Id love to see how this one develops with some age on it.

Pours clear and dark cola brown. In a Spatan dimpled mug it appears black. The creamy chestnut head easily reaches one and a half inches before slowly compressing and leaving spotty lace.

The aroma is soapy with nuts and cola.

Flavor is sweet with faint sourness. Cola and vanilla are prominent, followed by chocolate and a quick mild finish.

The body is medium to light with a soft creamy texture. Carbonation is faint and alcohol is well concealed.

While this is an enjoyable beer, it is lackluster. Aside from its 7% alcohol, one could easily sit back and converse with friends while enjoying this some afternoon.

Bottle from Edgemont. Dark pour no head. A bitter and dark malted porter. The lambic is at the forefront from beginning to end. Notes of sour fruit, oak and vanilla top it off.

A porter brewed with "Lambic yeast" which resulted in a very interesting combination of roasty and barnyard flavors and aromas. Crazy funkiness in this beer. It's gotta be (hands down) the stinkiest (in the best way possible) beer I've ever had!
