Eternal gratitude goes out to my cousin Sonny for sharing this set at Ebenezer's 2016. Just stunning generosity.

A- Hazy deep golden body from the 750ml into a bunch of glasses. A foamy head rises to about an inch high with good retention. A frothy island remains and lacing is sparse.

S- Extremely pungent old world lambic funk and mustyness. Sourness is beyond expected based on this aroma. Lemony lactic acid, slight vinegar, barnyard musty funk, vinous sour pale grapes, cheese, fairly fresh tannic oak and a pinch of sulfur.

T- Somewhat smoothed out compared to the aroma as the funk and sourness doa good job balancing each other out. A huge level of lactic acid with a tiny bit of acetic lead things off providing a bed for the barnyard, horse blanket, sour fruits, apricot, lemon, apple skin, apparent but not woody oak barrel, old cheese and general must.

MF- Foamy with a high end carbonation which really fluffs up the medium body. Somewhat slick with a puckeringly sour ending.

The first of the set and a great way to start out. Not the most pungent lambic I have tried but this one is pretty close to that and brings on the splendid balance of funk, sour and complex depth of flavors. Seems like a three year or more average to me as there is not much young lambic character to be found here.

Tasted alongside the other seasons, July 2016. Of all the seasons, this was the most similar to Golden Blend. Muscat and sesame funk. Taste was was a blast of immediate sweetness, citrus, grape. Lovely Gueuze, and my favorite of the seasons.

Purchased this bottle along with many others of its caliber for a small group tasting and it was definitely one of the stars! Probably the best Oude Geuze I have ever had! I would buy more of this in a heartbeat!

We lined up all four seasons at Sloshfest 2015 a little while ago. Good fun with mediocre people. Cheers gents!

From a 750 into a wine glass

APPEARANCE: Pours a big, four finger, foamy white head with excellent retention. Hazy gamboge orange with no carbonation evident. Foamy cap remains until the end leaving lots of foamy lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Funky aromas with hay, lots of citrus fruit notes and some acidity as well. Probably the most citrus forward of the four.

TASTE: Funky with barnyard, citrus notes, tart lemon and sourness up front. Medium finish with more citrus, lemon and lime flavors, hay and barnyard funk, as well as a touch of acidity.

PALATE: Medium body with medium levels of carbonation. Creamy and soft on the palate, goes down fine and finishes dry. Some tart lemon lingers.

OVERALL: All of these were great, though if I had to choose one, I think this would be my favorite. I appreciate the extra citrus fruit notes this one brings to the table. Along with Winter, this is one of the more forthcoming bottlings as well. Excellent series and very glad I was able to try them all in a row. Cheers boys!

Pours an amber orange colour, ring of white head and no lace.Smell is cheesy and lactic, big funk, barnyard notes and musty, lemony and fruit, oaky, smells like a much older geuze than it is. Taste is puckering sour and lemony, lactic/cheesy acidity, dry and tart throughout. Fairly high carbonation, dry throughout and medium bodied. Truly exceptional, thanks again to Liam for sharing all 4 seasons!

Opened 8-29-15, poured into a HF tulip glass...
striking deep peach/apricot color with thick white 2 inch head that lingers as 1/2 inch foam for several minutes...
aroma and taste are the same--huge burst of crazy uber funky-dank-dustyness with stone apricot zesty flavors--in your face concentration... only similar US beer ive ever had is le sarrasin, though this kicks it up a notch in funkiness!! Outstanding beverage!
