Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Batch 300

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, PERMANENTLY

Originally brewed as a one-off in celebration of the 300th batch at our original downtown Minneapolis brewery, this West Coast IPA was so well received we had to make it available year-round. It's built on a base of Pilsner malt and heavily hopped with Mosaic, one of our favorite -- and unfortunately nearly impossible to procure -- hop varieties. At 74 IBU and 7% ABV, 300 is pure hop candy.

Friends at Haskells really pushed this one. Nice IPA that reminds me of a cross between an Odell IPA and Todd the Axeman. At 7% it's got a bit of a bite and leaves me wanting another.

What can I say? This beer is amazing. Great smell and flavor. Medium body with great bitterness. Good example of a well rounded mosaic brew. My favorite from Fulton so far!

L: Pours brilliant gold amber under a 2” sticky cream colored foam cap that takes 4 minutes to recede to 1/3 its original size.
S: Tropical fruit and bread crumb.
T: Big bold tropical fruit flavors over a biscuit background with a light fruity-malty sweetness and a balancing mild hop finish.
F: Very creamy medium body and carbonation.
O: Very well balanced and very well made.

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Light golden orange color with a 2 finger white head. Plenty of webbed lacing all over the glass. Smell is big on fresh, juicy tropical and citrus notes from the Mosaic hops. Lighter malt and some nice sweet honey to balance it out. Flavor is really hoppy in a tropical and citrus with the lighter Pilsner malts. Rich tangerine, grapefruit, mango, pineapple that finishes bitter. Nice mouthfeel with excellent carbonation that is sticky and juicy. This is a a great IPA when fresh.

Huge aroma of tropical fruits and pine on the nose....light catty notes as well...that carries through to the flavor....finishes with a fairly strong bitterness...a bit too much cattiness and sharp bitterness for me to call it a great beer but certainly an enjoyable hop laden IPA.

Standard minimalist Fulton 12 oz. bottle…with no bottle date I can find. That will limit my future purchases even if I love it. Date your bottles!

The pour is a bright, clear, filtered orange (cold-filtered, I’m sure) with low levels of carbonation. The nose is great: slick malt sweetness coupling wantonly with orangey citrus and hand-crushed pine needles rubbed under your armpits. Which I’ve done, many times.

300...I’ll put its name to the test. Mosaic hops burst onto the palate: huge mango, pine, citrus, with a sticky chop of bitterness & bass line of horse glue sweetness that fills in the background & doesn’t fade at the finish, but stays strong until sip next. Usually I hate a strong malt sweetness in an IPA, but here it doesn’t drown the bitterness or the taste, but complements it. Sticky, I said sticky, didn’t I?

A nice addition to the local IPA lineup that I could see myself plunking down for…if I knew it was fresh. Very good brew.

Reviewed from bottle. No date that I can see.
Pours a clear gold color with a 2 finger thick white head that doesn't stay around too long.
Aroma is hop heavy. Big hits of orange and other citrus. Fairly tropical as well. Pineapple comes through.
Taste is similar to the nose. More tropical fruits backed up by a fairly mild bitterness Juicy
Medium body for an IPA. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, a smooth, fruity and easy drinking beer.

I read that this beer won a blind tasting of 50+ Minnesota IPAs, so I bought a six pack the first time I saw it on the shelf. A: Orange/gold, average head, good lacing. S: Slight malt, lots of citrus. T: malt is kind of sweet, a little caramally, and just enough flavor to stand up to the hops, which are more bitter than expected--less citrus, more pine. Nice, but something in the aftertaste doesn't sit well on my palate--definately the malt flavors, but I don't know how to describe it. Astringency? Otherwise, these flavors are right up my alley. M: medium body, a little thick at the end and somewhat astringent. O: Pretty good but not as good as I was expecting. C'est la vie, non ? I suspect my expectations were too high.

Pours a clear golden color, with a relatively modest head.

Smells of exotic citrus-laden fruit. There are definitely some bitterness from the hops here, but overall, it's the sweetness which rules. Cool smell.

Taste is similar to the smell. This is more nuanced than a lot of the overly-sweet fruit-infused IPA's out there, yet it's the sweetness which is its defining characteristic. Supporting hops and malts are great, but it is the juicy, sweet and fruity nature of this which sets it apart. Great beer, and really happy to see it on the shelves again.

I was pretty excited to see a mosaic hopped IPA being brewed in Minnesota, and readily available.

Look: pours a beautiful translucent orange with a white head. Ample carbonation and head.

Smell: I get a nice dose of onions and garlic, followed by some nice orange citrus and some tropical fruit.

Taste: follows the nose with earthy veggie flavors and some tropical flavors and citrus. Beautiful.

Feel: carbonation is there but not overwhelming. There's a medium mouthfeel, with a slight slight bitterness. Very nice.

Overall: Unless Fulton severely messed up, I was going to like this beer. Absolutely look for this.

This beer pours a very clear pale amber with a small head. The aroma a gorgeous bouquet of grapefruit, guava, fresh cut grass, and some other funky stuff. The flavor is heavy on the guava and grapefruit, both peel and juice, with a reasonable dose of bitterness as well. The mouthfeel is clean and clear. Overall this is a superb IPA that is right in my favorite zone. I know I tend to overrate Mosaic hopped beers, and this will be no exception. It is a hop that, when well used, is unbeatable.

Pours deep golden with a lasting thin head. Lacing sticks.

The aroma of a strong mosaic hop character shines forth with citric and floral notes.

The juicy mosaic hops give a fruity bitterness. Enough malt ties the hops together and adds a smooth texture while keeping a nice bite to it in the finish.

A wonderful IPA that showcases the mosaic hops well while keeping a firm malt backbone. Very well-done!

Appearance: Clear gold, big head.

Smell: Citrus rind, touch of garlic.

Taste: Tangy citrus balanced out with a fair amount of malt. There's just a hint of garlic underneath, doesn't detract from the beer.

Overall: Lots of good hoppy beers came out this summer in the Twin Cities, Batch 300 from Fulton was a good one. I was a little concerned with the bit of garlic in the nose, but it didn't take away from the flavor, like a dash of spice.

12 oz into snifter

L - pours golden amber and crystal clear. 1 inch fluffy off white head and heavy lacing
S - very catty - typical Mosaic with dankalank out the wazoo
T - more dank followed by muted tropical fruits, pineapple and mango dominant. Good malt sweetness
M - medium bodied, fine soft carb

Overall a very well made beer. The dank isn't always my favorite, and this is dank as they come, but very well executed.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Hazy orange body. Big white head. Strong mosaic aroma. Tropical fruits and garlic. Pilsner malts behind it. Taste mostly follows the aroma. Hop flavor is strong garlic. Pilsner malts combine with a toastiness and an astringent flavor. Makes the body seem heavy and the finish a little rough. Well carbonated. Didn't really do it for me, but not bad.

Picked this up at North Loop Wine & Spirits after a tasting.

Really enjoyed this one, probably my favorite Fulton thus far.

Poured into a snifter - medium+ head, beautiful dank mosaic aroma.
Medium- carbonation, could be a little bit more carbonated. Beautiful deep orange color.
Excellent balance + great nose, the finish leaves a bit to be desired. No lingering hop/malt.

12oz bottle of the Garage Series release. Served in a snifter glass.

Pours a clear, darker copper-orange body, two finger effervescent offwhite head with good retention. Nice splotchy lacing. Smells of citrus and passion fruit, sweet grainy toffee. For the most part, nice hoppy aroma and pleasant. This beer ratchets things up quite a bit on the palate, though. Very nice grapefruit and passion fruit with sweet toffee in the background, a bit of graininess. It's very nicely balanced with a solid tropical fruit bitterness on the backend. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, solid carbonation, with a moderate grapefruit bitterness on the backend. Overall, a very more than solid single hop IPA that is quite balanced. Mosaic is expressed fairly well here with a nice bitterness to round things out.

This is an excellent beer, though I would note it is an IPA, not a double IPA at 7% ABV. Color is an apricot amber, and the taste is very good, but the best part of this beer is the smell. Huge, tropical Mosaic hops on the nose. If I could bathe in this I would.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big two finger white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus fruit and grass. Upfront hop scent with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, apricot, and melon. Floral and earthy hop scent with some hints of grass. Malt hints of caramel, grains, cracker, and yeast. A solid aroma.

Taste: Like the nose hints at, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus and grass. Big chewy citrus fruit notes of grapefruit, orange peel, apricot, tangerine, lemon, and melon. Good hop notes of grass and pine. Backing malt notes of caramel, cracker, grains, and yeast.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, chewy, and drying.

Overall: A very good single hop IPA. Nice citrus and grass presence.

this is exactly what you'd expect it to be.

clear and orange, with a decent head that leaves some lacing. not as much to the nose on this one as i might have expected. mouthfeel is clean and bright, with some lingering flavor but not bitterness.

This is a juicy mosaic bomb made just the way I like it. Supporting malt and bitter are perfect. Aroma could be a bit bigger. Beautifully crafted beer.
