War & Peace is a Russian Imperial Stout aged with Peace Coffee's Guatemalan Organic Dark Roast. We measure out a pound of whole beans per barrel of beer and add it directly to our tanks, then allow it to infuse for nearly a week. It's a combination so natural, you may forget that stout and coffee once existed without each other.

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Guess the Beer of the Month people had a bigger bottle made. 2018 edition, had 1/20/19.

Pours near black and opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a fair amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of coffee, espresso, chocolate, vanilla, malt, some molasses, an herbal and smoky aroma. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, vanilla, light caramel, kind of an herbal flavor. Fair amount of hop/malt/both? bitterness. Smooth, creamy, a solid full body, well carbonated.

A solid coffee stout, one I would have again, with very good flavors and aromas. There’s nothing special or unique here, but it’s very enjoyable.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This new to me brew pours a
rugged blackish brown with a very nice head of brown foam that
settles to a thick ring, and thin layer with some excellent lacing with
each sip. Nose of dark coffee, dark cocoa, char, and touches of
cream and brulee. Flavors nail it! Rich coffee, dark bakers chocolate,
and char dance about wafting layers of vanilla and cream with loads
of dark roasted malt and a hint of herbal bittering hops. Excellent
mouth feel; full body, smooth, rich, light carbonation, and a robust
roasted finish that lets one know they are enjoying a fine stout.

Overall----EXCELLENCE!

Cheers

12oz bottle. 2017 vintage.
Black colored body, with garnet colored back lit highlights. Half a finger of light tan head, which slowly recedes to a thin cap and ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, and still expresses the influence of the coffee infusion.
Taste of dark roasted malts and the dark roast coffee. Slight toffee and chocolate here, and a bit of prune, but mostly the coffee. Minimal bitterness in the after taste.
Fuller mouth feel. Smooth texture. Good carbonation.
A really good coffee infused stout. It makes me feel like I will be buzzed for awhile (from the coffee). Not complex but well blended.

Poured from a single-serve into a stout glass...

Pours dark, just shy of black and opaque. Pours just a tad thin for the style. Excellent two-finger tan head that quickly subsides in favor of good lacing.

The aroma is simple but classic, straight, and proper for the style. Roasted malts are delivered by coffee and chocolate in equal measure, with the chocolate providing a bit of nuance, with semi-sweet chips and chocolate cake batter both present. Just a hint of herbal/anise aroma.

The flavor skews a bit more bitter initially, than the nose, with plenty of astringent char, and dark/baker's chocolate flavors. However, the brew is well-balanced, particularly as it warms and opens, with plenty of "malt" counterpoint, even with the toasted grain notes. The booze is not as well-hidden as the best of the style, but it is present as a "warming" not a "burning" note.

The mouthfeel is rather thin for the style, but the carbonation level is excellent and the brew finishes well.

This is my favorite Fulton offering. It is a solid RIS that checks all of the boxes, particularly on the aroma front, even if it doesn't "wow" across the board.
