IMHO, to rate a AAL to style, you have to embrace the grainy qualities. This one pours a deep straw with a soda pop head that dissipates without lace. Nose is very grainy, with a touch of corn and honey. Taste is light and crisp without and skunkiness. Taste is grainy as well, with a very light malt sweetness and a little hay and citrus. Overall, nothing special, but not a bad AAL if you want a lawnmower beer on a hot day.

From a bottle dated best before 5/7/17. Clear golden color with a finger of white head. Smells of malt and grain. Light feel. Taste has grainy sweetness, lemon, and a slightly bitter finish. Compared to other AALs, this is not bad. Compared to beers in general, it rates a "meh".

For the style it looks about right. It is pale yellow and fizzy with a white head that fades quickly and leaves no lacing. The aroma is decent for an AAL with grain, grass and a bit of citrus tartness. The taste is sweet, grassy and it is surprisingly bitter at the end. Pretty decent for the style.

From a can. Very light yellow color with a tall, light white head. Refreshing, slightly creamy flavor. Enjoyable if at hand, but I would not seek it out.

From a single plucked off a grocery shelf while in Hawaii, into a willi becher...pours a slightly hazy dull pale gold with 3 finger pale white head. Nose is pils malt that is a little off and some faint grassy/cardboard that has been dipped in a watered down pool of tropical fruit juice...pineapple? When it hits the tongue, things go from unexciting to problematic. There is a bready base...the lemony hops make no sense to me, though there is quite a bit of bitterness at the end...there is a tinny medicinal edge that is a little unpleasant. For a second I thought it might be something interesting/surprising, like cloves, for example, but...probably not, and regardless, it isn't integrated well at all. What I thought might be pineapple on the nose is more like lemon on the tongue, and it doesn't really fit very well.! Mouthful is pretty watery and not too crisp.

Bottle share courtesy of Eric, another country to tick off my list. Typical of the tropical lagers, smells and tastes like wet paper, pale, pale yellow body, airiest of heads. Kind of somewhere between blah and blech.

Set and setting for a brew like this... I've had it in the states and always curse the glass... but on the right beach with the right sunset and the right lady.
