Pours a pale golden coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of doughy malt, lemongrass and lime peel, with hints of coconut, white grape and fruity esters of green apple. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of doughy malt, citrus/tropical hops and fruity esters, with notes of lemongrass, lime peel, tangerine, white grape and lighter notes of coconut, pineapple, grass and herbs. Finishes with a light bitterness and some tropical and citrus notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

At first I really thought that I prefered the Citra version to this, but it really grew on me with an intense and pretty unique lemongrass character and lighter notes of coconut and pineapple, almost giving this a certain pina colada feel, without ever becoming too sweet though, actually taking on a lightly tangy aspect instead. This is also significantly less sweet, boozy and estery than other Duvel varieties, while still maintaining a light, estery feel to it.

This was the first bottle of beer I had at sea in our new boat yesterday. It was not well chilled but it came in strong anyway in the sunny and windy conditions we had. Sadly I had but this only bottle. Must it stay in memory a long time.

De Labirratorium. En copa Duvel. Viendo Desencanto 1x06. Muy similar a la duvel normal, quizas con un punto herbal adicional, e igualmente superbebible. Los 33cl se pasan volando, se queda corta.

Poured it into its Duvel tulip. I as write this the head and foam has faded almost entirely but as you can see and it’s typical of any Duvel the head was tremendous. It also pours a pretty golden color. Onto the nose now...

Smells lemongrass and some hints of lime and apple. This is a nose friendly beer so to speak and I feel this is going to be a winner to the palate as well.

Taste follow the nose and the flavors of lemongrass, lime and green apple are predominant. Considering its heavy 9,5% it’s a very well balanced, non boozy beer and I love it.

Overall: We’ve got a winner and you are very much encouraged to purchase it, it has only two reviews and eight rating on BA (before I log in mine) so it’s safe to assume this beer hasn’t crossed the Atlantic Ocean yet. Definitely worth it, probably one of the top notch Belgian IPA to this day

Looks very nice: full head of flyffy foam and a pillar of bubbles in golden blond.
