Poured from a corked 750 ml bottle into a large clear goblet glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy deep golden color. Two finger creamy white head retains well and leaves sticky lacing as it recedes. Looks delicious.

Smell: Some delicate floral hops, sweet yeast and alcohol scent here too.

Taste: A really good balance of yeast, malt, hops and sweetness. The hops add a nice bitterness up front that is quickly followed by the spice of the yeast.

Mouth feel: Medium body with some good creamy carbonation. Sweet and slick finish.

Overall: A very good Belgian Blonde. One of the better Belgian Blondes out there. I like the easy drinking nature of this beer, and it would make an excellent session beer. One of the best Belgian Blondes I've had.

Had this on tap at the Half Moon in Kennett Square,a real nice golden/orange color with a very sticky head, very fruity aroma of banana and a slight pineapple aroma.Taste is slightly yeasty with some nice fruity tones almost to easy to drink.Seeing I was on the roof outside drinking this it seemed to go down even easier.Real nice.

Presentation: It was poured from a stubby brown 11.2oz bottle into my Westmalle Trappist chalice. The abv is listed as 6% and there is a "Best before" date of 05 2011. The back label also has a short description of the beer.

Appearance: Its body has a deep orange amber color with a very slight haze to it. It is also full of visible carbonation racing up to the head. The head is just off white in color and very thick and creamy. It has excellent retention and it maintains a good cap of foam until the end.

Smell: In the nose I get sweet bready and yeasty notes with some light fruity and medicinal estery notes. There is a bit of alcohol as well.

Taste/Palate: The flavor is fruity, estery, sweet and bready with solid herbal bitterness from the hops. Mild fruity notes of peach, red apples skins and pear are suggested on my tongue. The palate is very creamy and smooth but still quite lively from the carbonation.

Notes: It is a very enjoyable Blonde for sure with nice balance of malt and hops.

Best head ever. Poured clear gold with a thick, frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, candy sugar, and spice. Taste was very understated. Typical Belgian-sweet, with a nice malty back. More yeast ester flavors as the beer warms and settles. Light mouthfeel.

Smooth malt flavor, caramel, with that wonderful banana and bread smell/taste. A hint of bubble gum in this one as well. As you might expect from something from the Duvel folks, a wonderful carbonation and slightly dry finish. This ale looks like it once was an independent Abbey....Perhaps Duvel bought them? Good lacing, nice head...My only criticism: as you proceed it becomes evident that the ale is a little thin.

Appearance: light gold; slight haze; head fades fast

Aroma: metallic; a bit tart; sour apple or grapes

Taste & Mouthfeel: sharp bit on the tongue, very acidic; thin body; below average carbonation, almost flat at times; very short; somewhat vegetal, metallic again

Overall: very unpleasant and bland - like drinking tin; can't even finish it

* Wondering if it was a bad bottle, doesn't seem consistent with other reviews

Pours a slightly hazed pale golden hue with a bright white head fine bubbled effervescent texture. Fine even Belgian style lacing. Aromatics have light biscuit malt sweetness with a touch of tropical fruit and pear juice...a nice welcoming herbal slightly citric hop nose going on as well. Clean biscuit malts hit the palate first with a backend of fruitiness and herbal grassiness in the finish. A touch of white pepper from the yeast used, but overall a very complex low alcohol session ale from Maredsous. Finishes pretty dry with yeast spice and grassy hops, nice straight forward Belgian pale ale...efferevescent carbonation dead on to the style. Overall experience is a good one, a beer I would definitely come back to, but for 3.50 a pop at the local I'm sure sixers of American craft beers will be my go to still.

Very nice golden amber pour with a nice beige frothy head.
Aroma of sweet fruit, yeast and malt.
Tastes of apples and a hint of lemon. Candy floss somewhere in there.
Great champagne like carbonation and mild bitterness.
Really makes me understand why I like Belgium ales!
