So, this pours a hazy yellowish-gold color. With a thick head that dissipated fast. I poured it into my Duvel Green snifter. (Gotta love proper glassware). At first sniff, I smelled a light hoppy aroma engulfed by a mild Belgian scent. At first sip... it tasted like a plain Belgian IPA... but after the second and third sip, I started getting a mild hop burn in my throat (not normally where I get it) which was a nice welcome to the beer.

Sorachi Ace hops were added to this years, and it seems to fit really well into this beer. It adds a whole new level of complexity to a normal Belgian IPA. Duvel's brewer(s) picked right this year. It's a nice "light" 9.5abv beer that drinks very easily on a hot day.

I'm happy to say that I've tried it, and would tell others who enjoy a new beer to give it a try, but I won't go around ranting and raving and MAKING people try it. I don't think you'll be disappointed, but I don't think you'll be blown away either.

Best before 9/2015.

Pours a hazy light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, and Belgian yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus and tropical fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a fantastic fruity hop presence that makes this one super easy to drink.

Quite yellow this beer, soapy head, but not as big as regular Duvel.
Smell is pleasant with pine, very clear lemon as well, hint of nightshade tomatoeplant foliage.
Taste is very nice fruity. Lemon. The beer is bitter, but it's mild and lasting. The alcohol is covered perfectly.
Overall, this is a very good beer indeed. The 2012 was great, but this is even better. This brewery has done itself a favour with this new line of beer.

33 cL bottle direct from Belgium. Thanks Caleb!

The beer is hazy straw yellow with a towering white head. Ample lacing coats the walls of the glass. The aroma brings floral hops, lemons, hops, yeast. Fantastic. Hints of coconut. Finishing dry with lingering hop bitterness. Sorachi Ace hops are showcased beautifully. Lemongrass, floral notes, coconut, yeast, a hint of warming alcohol. Delicious.

Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. Slightly hazy light yellow pour with a airy two finger head with nice retention and lacing. Slightly funky, herbal nose with tons of yeasty, grassy, Belgian goodness along with hints of lemon, pine, and of course that signature Sorachi hop note. The hops are definitely more prevalent in the taste. Lots of lemon and grass along with hints of dill, bubblegum, grapefruit, pine, and white pepper. The mouthfeel is crisp, light, and slightly fizzy with a nice dry finish. Very refreshing and crazy drinkable for a 9.5 ABV beer. Overall, this doesn't live up to last year's Citra version, but still a solid beer.

330ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip glass.

A: Pours a pale and clear yellow color forming the traditional huge white fluffy, creamy and soapy Duvel trademark head. Good retention and many lacings formed and left in the glass

S: The Duvel sweet grains backbone followed by a very citrus, grassy and a bit flowery hoppy smell. Quite funky and really unique this Sorachi Ace hop. Very interesting

T: Slightly sweet malts upfront which becomes quickly dry, citrus and bitter. I have the impression that it's less bitter than the 2010 Edition (with Amarillo hops) but still stingy. Some notes of fruits and flowers

M: Medium to heavy body. Good carbonation and a lemony and hoppy aftertaste

O: Very drinkable. Strong Sorachi Ace hops profile which is kind of difficult in the beginning but quite pleasant whenever you become used with it. Again, not as good as the Amarillo version but still a Duvel's masterpiece

33 cl bottle poured into my CBS snifter
Bright golden, big white fluffy head that dissepearce quicly , no lace
Full hops in the nose, soft citrus, sorachi is a bit more in the back taking a grass, lemongrass approach here and not earthly , sharp esters, pepper, soft, round, fruity.
Full sweet citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass, fruity, lingering bitter aftertaste, sharp yeast, white grapes, sweet soft, grass. Light, round soft, creamy.
The Citra was much better but this is still lovely , but a bit to soft and watery ,
