Had this ontap at Peppercorns Bar and Grill. Been looking forward to this one for a while now and happy to say it did not disappoint.

A - Clear dark copper colour with a one finger head that left hardly any lacing. Nothing special here.

S - Some really nice strong sugary sweet malt aromas. This is actually, aroma wise, one of the more intense Oktoberfests I've ever had the pleasure of drinking.

T - Good dark malt flavours with this one. A bit on the sweet side but pleasantly so. The taste mimics the nose quite well with this one with some big, bold taste.

M - Nice slightly higher than normal carbonation. Really solid crisp finish.

D - Good taste along with a good mouthfeel; not watery at all like some other brewers. Just a really good, strong take on a classic style.

Had on tap @ Prezo in Milford, MA.

It comes in a pint glass with a light creamy 1 finger head fades at a decent rate to a light head covering, super clear toasty amber maple brown with hints of red.

Nose is typical, light toasty malts, light crisp lager and fruit, pretty light though.

Taste is stronger than the nose with more toasty malts, some juicy red malts, little creamy, light fruit and crisp lager flavors, fair grassy hops with a touch of bitterness althought the bitterness seems to grow. It's actually pretty sweet too, but has a rich hearty malt and warming feel that gives it a nice fall feel to it.

Mouth comes with a lighter but crisp body and good carbonation.

It finishes crisp with a slight sticky residue and little sweetness, some more juicy red malt flavors and a little toasty malt. Some lighter bitterness and floral hops.

Poured from a growler purchased at Wormtown/Peppercorn's into an imperial pint glass.

A: Pours a clean, amber color with a foamy, two-fingered off-white head that dissipates into a small amount of bubbles on the surface. Once the head disappears, the edges look watery but otherwise it has a nice color.

S: Not overly aromatic, but some nice malty aromas do come through.

T: Smooth, clean, strong malt flavors dominate the taste. A bit of a hop bite toward the end, but it doesn't linger for very long.

M: Not overly carbonated, smooth with a hop bite all around. Leaves a tiny bit sticky for a while but cleans up at the end.

O: A nice, smooth, malty oktoberfest. Nothing too crazy, but it does stick to style and deliver exactly what I was looking for: smooth, malty flavor without being too passive. This beer does its job well without getting carried away.

On tap this past weekend at the Parish Cafe II in the South End. Good to see Wormtown beers on tap around Boston. Served in a standard pint glass. Dark bronze color with hints of red. Just a bit lighter in color than most other Oktoberfest beers. Not a lot of head on this beer. Smell was mellow. Taste was fairly good, with a nice amount of malt. Mouthfeel was crisp and smooth. Drinkability was up there, as this is a great tasting and easy to drink beer. Always good to have an Oktoberfest beer when it's in season, and it's even better to have one from a local brewer.
