Purchased at The Dram, a fantastic offie in Sheffield. BBE 12/2006, consumed on 14/02/2007, served lightly-chilled in a straight imperial pint glass.

A: it pours a murky dark reddish brown colour, coming with a very tight and creamy pale khaki froth with great retention; carbonation is constant and moderate.
S: sweet liquidy caramel comes hand in hand with an ashy note coming from the froth, on top of a firm fruity theme consisting of sour-sweet mangos (like dried sliced-mangos, a fruit snack from The Philippines), banana-ish fruit-esters, and thin-bodied wheat-malts. Integrated and approaching.
T&M: effervescent on the texture upfront, quite soothing and not too fizzy. Sour-sweet fruit-esters come first, followed by an underlying flow of caramel malts and wheat-malts. A restrained bitterness slowly comes through, rounded off with a dryish and clean finish.
D: this is a medium-bodied Dunkel Weizen with an integrated flavour profile and a texture that doesn't go thin-ish in the end at all, unlike many of its counterparts that I've tried. Quite drinkable overall, but still it requires more complexity to keep me interested.

500ml bottle. Weizen glass. (enjoyed time ago, reviewed from my notes). Dark amber color, foggy appearance. Beige crown shows fairly good retention. Aroma profile displays toffees, caramel malts, slight floral & banana & some spiced hues. Fruity & wheaty upfront, sweet flavor & phenolic touch. Medium body. Flat carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Low floral bitterness in the middle end in a sweet/bitter finish. Nice session beer.
