On tap at Baumgartner's in Monroe, WI. Review from notes. Appears brownish black with a head that went away quickly. The smell/taste was of overly roasted malt, licorice, and some cocoa. Maybe some faint oats. Average intensity. Moderate bitterness and light dryness. Carbonation was high and body was very thin for the style. Overall, it had an okay roasted flavor profile, but there are probably better stouts on tap to try.

On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:

Pours black with a thin tan head that eventually becomes wispy. Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is of dark chocolate and roasted coffee.

The taste of sweet dark chocolate is balanced by a dose of roasted coffee in the finish.

It is very smooth and creamy.

A roastier/drier interpretation of the style. It is smooth and has a combination of sweet chocolate and heavily roasted coffee.
