The White Horse is located next to the famous Blackwell's bookstore on the Broad Street. The pub is long and narrow with a decent amount of bar seating and a few tables.
They had about 4 casks on when I was there, and it was one of the only pubs in the area where I was able to find Timothy Taylor's Landlord, a beer that alone is worth the visit. The beer was well kept, however I didn't sample any food, but the menu looked comparable to other pubs in the area.
The White Horse is definitely worth a visit. If I only had time to visit one pub in the area then The Turf would be my choice. However, The White Horse is definitely in the top 5 of Oxford pubs, which is saying something.

If you like your pubs long and thin you’ll love this place: if you don’t like crowds and enjoy you own space, you’ll hate this place. You step down into a wide corridor someone turned into a pub some years back. We liked it as we forced our way towards the rear once I’d managed to order the round for the 6 of us on our crawl (23rd Nov 2013).
I couldn’t really see much because of the masses but it looked twee and nicely attired. There was a picture of the 1923 Wembley crowd with the ’White Horse’ and a Cask Ale in his name ’Billie’, I had a pint of it!

Supposed to be one of the oldest pubs in Oxford, and was a favorite of Winston Churchill's, and, more recently, Bill Clinton. Most of the seating is inside, and the interior of the pub is quite small. The selection of beer is decent, though unremarkable. Staff is friendly. Recommended.

A sandwich board promising Timothy Taylor's Landlord lured me into the White Horse. But it wasn't on. The six casks and one cider were a mystery to me so I asked the bartender for a taster.
He scoffed. We were literally the only people in the pub, so I didn't understand - was I distracting him from some much needed loafing?
"I'll order a pint," I assured him, and he deigned to let me sample something called Sharp's Doom Bar and something else called White Horse Wayland Smithy.
The real ale was decent, though I didn't try the food. An acceptable pub, inhospitable bartender notwithstanding.
