Pours dark red tinged with purple. Moderate pink head that gives up consistent lace. Everything about this is cherry. Cherry, cherry, cherry. Strong aroma and taste of cherry with a hint of the character of lambic beer. Where it really works on the finish where the beer has a lingering tart finish. Sweet up front, but not cloying or soda like, god natural cherry character to tase and smell. The brewers have simply gone all out to make this more about fruit than anything else, but the lambic side of it distinguishes it from straight juice in a good way. Points for craftsmanship.

Works as an extreme beer and, like any extreme brew, won't be to everyone's taste. Well, let's call this what it is - cherry juice with a lambic twist. If you like krieks, you'll find this at least interesting. I like krieks and really enjoyed this. Wish I could lay my hands on it more regularly.

Mmm. Cherry.

How bad can it really be? If I go in wanting fruit juice maybe it won't taste too bad? The real question is what was I thinking, but it was late at night, the only nearby open beer bar was this docked boat floating in the river, what else was I going to do.

Despite expecting it the cherry character is just screaming from the aroma; fake, sweet and with a huge aspirin like quality, the fake cherry cough syrup character is almost overwhelming. It reminds me a bit of Capri-sun cherry "flavored" drink. In some ways it actually smells more red, than it does of cherry, if that makes any sense. And there is a sort of play-dough like aroma to this beer somehow too. The flavor is much the same, with some definite aspirin like notes in the finish. The beer feels viscous and syrupy on the palate, but because it is just juice it is actually somewhat refreshing; sort of.

Purchased at the Tesco supermarket. At 3.2%abv., 375ml green bottle in presentation, corked and caged. BB 28/04/10, serve lightly chilled in a broad-rimmed goblet.

A: pours a dark pink-ruby hue, topped with a foamy pinky froth with good retention, on top of moderate but healthy carbonation.
S: I say, how can this be a lambic-based fruit beer? For, there's not a single hint of lambic's tart and musty note in it. Instead, a lightly prune-ish note of a Flemish Red Ale hides behind the rich façade of sweet cherries and cherry-skins. Overall, quite pleasant and fruity, not overly sweet but nothing too special here.
T: a decent level of salty-sourness from the red/brown ale accompanies the more pronounced cherry-fruitiness; faintly bitter in the finish, as if from the wood-ageing process of the base ale. Apart from these characters, this is a straight-forward cherry ale as far as my palate is concerned.
M&D: quite refreshing and light on the mouthfeel, this is a very fruity brown-ale-based cherry beer that hasn't got much depth or complexity. But it's easy-drinking all the same.

300ml bottle bought from Sainsburys...

Poured a deep pinky red colour... Pink head poured big and foamy and faded to almost nothing...

Aroma - Strong sweet cherries, almonds, cream, vanilla, biscuity, peppery, powdery hints...

Taste – Very (too ?) sweet, strong creamy cherries, lemony hints, definite almond / marzipan notes, floral, light sourness...

Feel - Quite smooth and creamy. Medium body... Quite drinkable but becomes too sweet after a while..

Overall - A pretty average kriek.... too sweet... Worth a try maybe once...

A - Pink tinged red wine colour with decent head.

S - Very much dominated by cherry and overly sweet.

T - Sweetness very pronounced at start but bitterness evident in the finish. Quite sugary and raspberry also prominent. I reckon it might be appreciated better at slightly hgigher serving temperature than the 4oC on the bottle.

M - Good carbonation but quite sharp on the tongue.

D - Quite easy to drink but not moreish.

A light refreshing summer drink but there are better examples of the style out there.

To begin this review; i am not a big fan of Kriekbeer. Got one bottle from my cousin and today was the day to try it.

Poured in my dutch beerglas the beer doesn't look at all as beer. A violet head and a dark violet fluid. You can smell and taste the cherries they used (or the aroma) very good.

Sweet and fresh, a bit sour. For a fruitbeer perhaps not bad but not my cup of tea.

Cherry red with a little carbonation, and topped with a half finger of pinkish head. Fairly clear body.

Smells of cherries, rich sweet cherry pie! Not much more, its the pie filling with no crust or whipped cream.

A big balance of sweet and tart, cherries and vanilla. Quite rich.

Thick body, with moderate carbonation.

Got in Chiang Mai, where I am drinking it at home Sept 1st, 2017. Exceeded my expectations for the style of brew. Sweet to taste, its a dessert beer, but nice and refreshing.
