11.2oz bottle, states 03 on the bottle, unclear what this means. Poured into a 2013 Cantillon Zwanze glass today, 2/4/2014. I think Gunch sent this one as an extra; thanks for this one John!

App- pours a dark ruby-brown body, fairly opaque but illuminates nicely to show an dark amber body. Minimal <1 finger white head, minimal retention, no lacing. Looks bubbly.

Smell- Tart cherry, strong oak tannins, lots of vinegar, faint hints of musty, earthy funk.

Flavour- Quite tannic, vinegar which makes for a 6/10 sour quotient, more earthy funk than in the nose. Some tart cherries comes out, similar to Supplication but not as intense on the cherries (I know this is not made with cherries), and certainly nowhere near a Kriek.

Mouthfeel- Thinner-medium bodied, less carbonation than expected for the style yet still very drinkable despite its acidity. Mouthfeel is a sour earthy fruitiness that doesn't stick around for long.

Overall- Very nice Flanders red, probably the best shelf Flanders red I've come across. I certainly enjoy this more than Rodenbach Grand Cru, but the price point ($20 for a 4-pack) does deter me a bit even though I know sours are usually more expensive.
