Poured from a 330 into a tulip.

A: a deep red with a copper cast. One finger, beige (too common? Taupe? Cafe au lait?) head that dropped pretty fast.

S: lovely lactic, cherry sour aroma. A real preview of what is to come.

T: as advertised by the aroma. Sour cherry right in the gate, and it holds through the finish. Some spice. Hop, malt, and yeast profiles muted by the sour cherry. No real alcohol perceived at all in the finish.

M: I don't know if this is a "thing" but it it felt fairly light bodied at first, but a bit of sticky held on in the finish making me rethink the overall mouthfeel. Says "full bodied" on the bottle, but .... I could be influenced by West Coast IPA's and Cabs.

O: this direct sour was what I was in the mood for and it nailed it. It is a Flemish Sour, unlike some adult cherry soda's I've had from other breweries (and brouwerij's). Will revisit. Perhaps often.

Bottled 2012 (or 2002? hard to read the bottle). Sampled 2014.

A: This poured a clear dark garnet with almost no head.
S: It smelled like tart apple cider vinegar and sour cherry, with some funky oak.
T: It tasted like sour apple candy, with tart vinegar and sweet brown sugar and old oak. It had a very clean sour aftertaste.
M: It was watery with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a fantastic sour, with juicy and delicious scent and taste. The body was ok, but the finish was ultra smooth. So it was easy to drink, but should be sipped and savored. A true delight.

Pours a deep dark red, almost black until light is shown through it. Light of white head. Smell is cherries, lime and grape funk. Taste is full of fruit cherries citrus, very tart. Feel is light bodied, refreshing, astringent and sour. Lively crisp carbonation. Overall very good cuvee, not too sweet and very refreshing.
