Wilbur Brewhause Midnight Stout is a wonderfully crafted, robust stout, brewed in Martinsville Indiana by a small brewery owned by Dan Hause. For more info on this brewery check out the website at: http://members.bpl.coop/bohica/
If you've ever been to Martinsville, you might be amazed that such a great beer can come from such a town. I bought this beer expecting it to be terrible, but was pleasantly surprised! It had a wonderful, complex, roastiness that made it a pleasure to drink. I can't wait to try another one, and their other beers too!

Picked up at the local Sahara Mart, new Winter Seasonal from the Wilbur Brewing Co. As stated on the website (wilburbrewco.com) the use 8 lbs. of "Midnight Joe" from a local organic roaster, B-Town Beans. Looking forward to lots n' lots of coffee from this one!

A- Pours a very hazy, very dark almost black opaque, only outlined by very slight dark copper hue. Tops with a two-fingered head of tan froth that leaves good lacing throughout the glass.

T- As expected it delivers a huge palate full of dark roasted coffee, very fresh taste. Expected a bitter coffee aftertaste but was pleasantly surprised by the slight malt sweetness, rounded out by a hop spice.

M- Not too chewy, not too watered-down, well done!

D- Very sessionable @5%, not too heavy to be one-and-done, a pleasure to drink.

For a local, organic coffee stout, this one is tough to top. Go get a 6 pack while it lasts this winter!

Dark, coffee colored body with a creamy chocolate milkshake head that leaves sheets of lace on the glass. Coffee grounds and cocoa powder in the nose. Nice, assertive coffee flavor upfront with some sweet caramel maltiness in the finish. The body is on the leaner side of medium with smooth carbonation. Not bad at all, a nice coffee stout.

Take this beer for what it is. It is really a bitter coffee stout. Dan picked the darkest roasted beans for this beer from a local coffee roaster. This leaves the beer having a bitterness not from hops but from the coffee itself.

A- night black. frothy lighter black to brown head. excellent lacing.

S- smells like coffee. a coffee drinkers delight this brew is.

T- tastes like roasted dark malts giving way to a bitter coffee finish. it's like a black cup of joe.

M- medium bodied beer. good carbonation.

O- taking it for what it is. i like this beer. I am a big coffee drinker so this appeals to my tastes probably more than others.

Got this as an extra in a DLD trade..poured into my New Belgium Globe

Greated by a dark mahogony color, thin white head, little lacing. Smells like my coffee pot when I get hom from work..I love that smell BTW...very pleasing...the taste is upfront coffee, single stout tang, pleasing malt flavor with a nice little hop nibble to finish. The mouthfeel is typical for a single, substantial for the style...A very pleasing beer that I could drink more of....
