Happened across a bottle cleaning out a buddy's cellar, always wondered how this would taste, let alone age. Bright amber yellow hazy body with a faint collar. Tea really does dance upon mild lambic lemon and half done funk. Oh the taste! Curiosity got this cat. Very tart and tea forward, lemon tea blinds you to any semblance of funk or depth, finish is muddled. Feel is not dry, more tart than anything, decently bright, but yeah, not worth your time. Mystery solved!

Cloudy orange with a small white head.
Smells sour and vinegary. Distinct scent of acetic acid. Lessr scents of lemon and wood barrel but I would not call it oak.
Starts out sour as expected. Sourness is like Berliner Weisse and not some of the stronger Lambics. Tastes of lemon and wood with some cork.
Mouthfeel is light.
Overall more sour than a Gose. I can handle it.

375 ml corked and capped bottle. The cork was in a crumbling stage so it took a while. None of the cork came in contact with the beer. :)
It pours a lightly hazy dark yellow, almost orange, with an inch of foam, decent lacing. Some sediment visible as it's unfiltered.
Smells like a Lambic with lighter tartness, lemon, tea, Brett that causes me to take deeper whiffs.
Lambic tastes with mild tartness, lemon, tea, light Brett.
Good body and mouthfeel considering the low abv.
Once you get past the cork thing, a good brew is there.

(750 ml green bottle, no visible bottling dates... purchased at SL off a brightly-lit top shelf... poured into a Stella goblet)
style 103 of 104 reviewed (according to current figures)
L: pale, straw-colored liquid, mostly brilliantly clear, but with a faint haze; inch-high, sudsy white foam on pour, recedes to a cloudy cap, which later opens up, but doesn't quite completely to a collar... quite a bit of sediment splayed vertically up the bottle; pouring in the dregs later left a soupy fog suspended
S: overall typical gueuze aromas - grapefruit peel, hint of apple cider vinegar, flowers, silk, dewy sweat... no real 'kombucha'-specific aromas (i.e. tea)
T: (thinly) wit-like wheaty malt foundation and floral esters; again, those 'apple-y', almost chamomile notes; flowery, delicately clementine-peel aftertaste... notably toned-down acidity, lacks 'bite'; dry, lawn-weeds-y finish, with a little residual lemony yeast lingering... as you go along, and if you're not looking for it, a peculiar undertone emerges in the background - the kombucha? - no overt tea-like notes, however... overall, it seems any vibrancy in flavor has long since eroded
F: soft, sudsy-silky, with a pleasantly quiet, dry, yet marginally watery finish... would prefer it to be sharper, more effervescent, but its satisfying smoothness will do
O: bold expressions, in parts, weak (worn away) in others... tasty, overall, but the lambic/kombucha combo conjured up an image of a more complex product that just didn't emerge here - not sure if kombucha craps out after awhile or just clashed with the lambic base... I guess this bottle was hanging around too long

Hazy orange-yellow with a thin off-white foam.
Smell is really herbal, almost of a skunky hop, with peach and grapefruit.
A quick exhale after a swallow of the sharp carbonation stings the nose, but quickly becomes tolerable. Taste brings tart sour Lemonheads, grapefruit, sticky peach, and weedy tea with a frothy, slightly bitter feel.

From notes taken 04/22/16:
Clear, bubbly, golden. Very champagne-like in appearance, right down to the white, fizzy, dissipating, but ever-reviving head. Gradually cloudier with each pour from this 750 ML bottle into this 6 oz flute. Smells about like GT’s Ginger Kombucha. Ginger, perhaps a little lemon, tiniest hint of vinegar. To the palate, watered down vinegar and/or lemon juice, ginger or perhaps just culture spiciness, pickled olive and metallic finish. Not as nasty as it sounds, but not easy to drink either. About like certain kombuchas, no surprise. Not to mention (especially sour) beers. If you already like those, you’re in luck. If not, good luck. About as light and spritzy and effervescent as expected.

I tried this from the bottle chilled in a goblet
The color is golden with slight haze and white head that dissipates. The smell is slightly fruity with mild funk in the aroma. The feel is very good with mild moderately light body with gentle sour quality.
The flavor is good with nice mild tartness and subtle lemony lactic quality with low sweetness and crisp dry finish. Overall this is a good beer, refreshing and quaffable, I wish I had bought more.

Poured a cloudy yellow body with abundant, effervescent carbonation bubbles and a one finger bubbly head. Overall impression of appearance is of a nice lambic in color, perhaps a bit too much carbonation for an unblended lambic, but quite on point for a Geuze. Scents of funky barnyard yeast, a bit of a smokey and enteric quality, which while usually demerits for a lambic are not unpleasant here, though these aromas fade quickly, replaced by light fruity, including citrus and apple, hints of honey, light hints of tea and mild honey aromas. Overall impression of aroma is of a sour ale that is quite nice, sour, wild, barnyard and fruity combine nicely to form a good aroma profile. Flavor begins highly sour with notes of barnyard funk, Kombucha tea, light lemon juice and light green apple. Middle is still sour, with notes of tea, Kombucha tea and barnyard funk with notes of hay. Finish is tart and somewhat dry with notes of hay, Kombucha tea, tea leaves and light green apple. Aftertaste is tart with notes of Kombucha tea, green tea and light fruity flavors. Overall impression of flavor is of a very funky, barnyard-forward sour with a very apparent Kombucha flavor also present. Unique and quite pleasant and refreshing. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation and a tart, puckering feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a light, highly carbonated sour that is quite refreshing. Overall this is a nice beer. Perhaps a bit too simple in flavor, but its aroma makes up for that, and the flavor is still quite nice. A good, refreshing beer and an interesting version of a lambic.

So yeah. My first lambic. Sour. Tangy. Interesting and I'll need to try another lambic sometime but not sure these are going to be my jam. In part reserving my judgment because of the kombucha angle here. Lovely color though. Like a rosé.

Poured from a corked and caged 750 mL bottle into a Brewer's Art goblet. Moderate hand. No clear date seen.
A: Pale, golden yellow body with surprising clarity off the top. 1 finger of fizzy, white head that quickly dissipates. Gets murkier as you work down the bottle. No lacing of note.
S: Kombucha tea with musty, fermented notes. Herbal. Grass. Honey.
T: Assertively sour initially with a marked kombucha presence. Becomes rather dry mid-way and closes out as such. Herbal. Lemon. Citric acid. Lingering earthy tea tannins in the aftertaste. No alcohol presence, as expected for 3.5% ABV.
M: Moderate carbonation with a light body. Effervescent and refreshing.
O: Think Berliner weisse plus tea leaves and you're partly there, but mostly this one tastes like kombucha with extra carbonation. Great if you want some kombucha, less great if you want some beer. Admittedly, its beer-like properties grow towards the end of the bottle. And I like kombucha.
Prost!
