This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy copper to burnt orange color. A slim white foamy head wrapped around the top of the glass. A moderate sticky foamy lacing clings nicely around the glass. The smell starts off with some sweet apples and sour apples. A nice bready/yeastiness slides in to balance. There is some light citrusy notes to this as well. The taste was moderately sweet with a dried spicy connotation to it which ends up reminiscing in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light. Once again, its pretty dry on my tongue. Overall, not a bad saison, but I haven’t had Southern styled crawfish in years, so I wouldn’t know how well, this really would pair. By itself, I might have this again.

A light saison that would pair nicely with spicy seafood like crawfish. I refer to this as a light saison, as it doesn't have the overbearing spiciness of so many saisons. Cool label. I'd buy this again for the next time I go to a Louisiana seafood feast or just to drink on a warm day.

Pours a slightly hazy orange gold color with off-white head. Caramel malts, light funk, farmhouse saison yeastiness, and some bread on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a typical saison funk and a slight spice.

Poured into tulip, nice 2 finger head that hangs around for a while, reduced to nice lacing on the glass. Color is an orangish amber, residual haze, my fault I upended the bottle. Smell is sharp, peppery and grassy to the nose. Taste matches the smell, coats the tongue and delivers a sharp spicy slap. It is not the best tasting saison, but it isn't the worse. Picking up some mild gum flavoring from the yeast, the pepper is there and a little alcohol is shining thru. Typical saison finish, somewhat dry. Beer is far from thin, has a nice mouthfeel, but the gum flavor is what is stopping me from living this more. I have a feeling that this would be a great beer with food, that would hide some of the stuff I am not liking about this one. All said and done, I would drink it again simply because of my love of Saison's and south Louisiana.
