Clear golden yellow brew with average foam in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Loads of aromatics. Sweet and tangy lemon-lime is the flavor from start to finish. Hard to find fault unless you were hoping for something harder to drink. Even the bitterness comes along just as the sugar peaks in the brain.

I don't taste the mango as much as some candied grapefruit peel for the finish. Overall, it's a very good DIPA, and so much better than about anything I"ve had in the hazy New England style brews we can't get away from. From the 16 oz can. I think this and the Mosaic are the most expensive IPA four-packs I've ever seen.

16oz can served in a pint glass. I don't see a date. Gift from @mr-jj.

Pours clear golden with a smallish head. Smell is pretty straightforward citra hops -- fresh, clean, and citrusy.

Taste is surprisingly bitter -- still lots of citrus flavor, lots of citrus zest bitterness comes through. It's nice and very refreshing.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp and dry. Overall, very good beer.

Poured from a 16oz can into a tulip. Pours a golden orange hazy body with a big frothy white head that reduces to leave spotty lacing and a layer of retention.

On the nose is heavy citrus and zesty rind, grapefruit, raw hops and a sweet malt backbone. On the tongue are citra dominated hop notes, grapefruit and lightly zesty peppery notes, sitting on a semi-sweet malt backbone. Crushable body, medium carb and very drinkable for 8.8%.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a darker golden color. Not very bright in appearance. White head that dissipates and leaves sticky lacing to the glass. Aroma is insane. Citra all up in my face....citrus, mango, grapefruit....smells amazing. Taste follows the nose. Tons of citrus....mango and subtle grapefruit notes. The citra in this beer really pops. Feel is medium bodied and sticky/resinous. Really coating and leaves behind wonderful flavors of orange and grapefruit. Overall, this is a tremendous beer. Really love the showcase of Citra here. Noble did a great job with this one.

Poured from 16oz into Snifter. Canned on June 13th 2017.

L: Hop haze honey gold, finger width head dissipates quickly leaving behind a thin ring.

S: As you would expect an entirely Citra hopped DIPA to be this smells entirely of citrus, orange, mango, grapefruit.

T: Again entirely citrus flavors as previously listed.

F: Medium body, average carbonation, slightly syrupy, dry finish.

O: This could be better. Not bad though. I don't get how this gets rated as high as it does to be honest, not complex, simple.

Citra Hopped Double IPA 8.8% ABV | 77 IBU

This beer pours out a nice dark golden brown that reminds me of a perfectly toasted mallow. It has a nice 2-3 inches of thick head that slowly fades. The beer initially has some lacing but as it warms the lacing fades.

I was hit as soon as I opened this beer with hops. Seriously, as soon as the can opened the hops hit me. As it warmed it took on that lovely western IPA weedy scent, some grain, lemon, and orange peel.

The mouth on this one is full and refreshing. However, as this beer warms it almost becomes a little flat.

The taste hit me with a mix of hops and grain that i almost couldn't pick up anything else. After a few minutes in this beer picked up just as the nose did. Nice citrusy/orange, refreshing taste that didn't overpower you with bitterness.

Overall, this beer is one of my favorite beers recently. The beer doesn't have an overpowering scent other than what you expect from a west coast IPA. The taste and mouth on this beer is what take it to the next level. It is light, full, refreshing and finishes with just the right about of hops to make you keep the beer within reach.

Copper to brown in color with a half inch of dense off white. The aroma is of citrus hops, light malt, and floral hops. Amazing nose. I'm tasting citrus to mandarin orange hop flavor along with some light malt. The mouth is lightly resinous and chewy.

Poured on tap at Noble Ale Works.

Look: Golden amber. Looks like 90% of IPAs out there.

Smell: Heavy, heavy tropical aroma. Can't pinpoint the exact fruit. Not surprising considering it's a single-hopped with Citra. Has that extra bit of alcohol smell that doubles usually have.

Taste: Grapefruit is the most overwhelming flavor for me. Bitter and sweet. A nice mix of citrus and tropical notes.

Feel: The beer sits on my tongue for a while, and it's nice. The grapefruit flavor lingers, with a nice dry bitterness.

Overall: Pretty damned delicious. A ridiculously drinkable Imperial from Noble.

22oz bottle dated 1/31/17 poured into a Trillium snifter. Crystal clear apple juice body with two fingers of tightly packed white head that left moderate lacing as it slowly receded to a thin layer on top of the beer that was continuously replenished by several lazy bubble streams. Aroma is sweet Citra hops heaven; stone fruit, citrus, and slight alcohol. Taste is a stone fruit citrus bomb with a alcohol notes. A perfect example of what Citra hops can do. Mouthfeel is my only complaint about this beer. It's juicy and sugary up front, but the finish is incredibly dry. While I had zero difficulty finishing the bottle, I was definitely thirsty afterwards because of the drying effect of the alcohol. I would absolutely buy this again.

Beautiful clarity, two inch white foam head on a clear amber pour
Heavy on the citra, smells of lemon/lime rind, sweet malt, slight grass, orange, peach
Wow, (initially underwhelming) juice bomb without any bite, the sweetness and full flavors come in towards the mid-back, tad too sweet for me
A bit thin and lacking on the mouthfeel
Worth seeking out, really great stuff!

Pours a clear and beautiful bright golden orange color with a thick and foamy white head that persists and laces well. Insane amount of bright citrus aroma. Hops, hops, and more hops! Appropriately named "showers." Flavor follows in all its citric glory, with just enough sweetness from the seemingly simple malt bill. Feel is crisp, dry, bitter... what more could you want from a Citra DIPA? Overall this is an outstanding DIPA with exceptional use of Citra hops. Cheers!

Nose has a decent amount of malt and honey like sweetness and then dank hops. After a swirl it smells like you lit your nose up to a bucket full of fresh hops. Nice creamy mouth feel and low bitterness on the finish. This one is right at about a month old so it's fresh but the malt backbone is a little over done on this for me.

9/29/2016 bottle drank in a chalice on 10/11/2016

L-solid white head, clean with nice clarity, golden

S-clean and smooth citrus. pretty pungent and bold. not complex but the grapefruit, pine, grass, and orange come through nicely.

T-follows the scent

F- super drinkable. I had to double and triple check that this was 8.8%. Went down very fast and easy. Not overly juicy like the new haze-bombs, but amazingly crushable. really nice

O-a very nice showcase of the citra hop and a great west coast IPA. Certainly unique when compared to the new age hazy style IPAs, but this classic old school (correct now I think) aggressively hopped IPA is fanastic. First beer from Noble, but won't be my last. Reminds me of how ZD used to taste super fresh

Clear golden color. White head. On tap. Side by side with juice box and this is crap compared to it.

Bitter and sticky. Resiny. Where is the citra? Grassy and floral.

Not sure how or why this one is rated so high. Tough to drink a lot.

One of the best Citra IPAs I've had. Was able to get a bottle within a week or two of bottling and the Citra aromas exploded from the glass. The aromas we're backed up perfectly on the tongue as well. Wish this was around more often

Poured a beautiful golden orange with an off white head hat left tons of lacing in the glass. Aromas and flavors were dominated by the majesty of citra: grapefruit, piney resin, some orange marmalade, and it's all balanced by a nice sweet and bready malt backbone. Sticky mouthfeel with medium carbonation that gives way to a nice wave of bitterness for the finish. It's hard to imagine this beer displeasing (m)any DIPA fans, but it seems to me to lack that final special quality that would put it in the range of the all-time greats.

Picked this up from WFDTLA.

L: Light yellow with a finger of head leaving a good amount of lacing on the glass.

S: Very hoppy with some nice floral, citrus, and lemon notes. Some fresh pine and juice.

T: A pretty juicy west coast IPA with lots of citrus and some pine. Nice amount of bitterness in the back.

F: Medium body mouthfeel that suits the ABV and style well.

A new favorite among my west-coast IPAs!

Aroma is sweet pine sap with orange, pineapple, and mango. Tastes like orange candy. Plenty of sweet malt and dank, earthy hops. Great depth of flavor. Mouth feel is amazing. Its creamy and resinous with just the right amount of carbonation. It sticks to your palate long after you swallow.

Awesome extra received in a trade from ph1ogic, wasn't even on my radar. This beer smells absolutely amazing, which really isn't surprising for a citra beer, but it even stood out from a crowded field of citra IPAs. The flavor was outstanding too, with a light malt bill and not too much bitterness. It was all juicy citra hops. Definitely one of the better bottled DIPAs out there, up there with the likes of Trillium's best stuff.

Poured a two-week old 22oz. Aclear golden with very little head with aggressive pour. No lacing, head subsides quickly

Scent is lighter than I was anticipating. Hoppiness scantily dressed in orange-citrus, nothing special but pleasant nonetheless.

Taste hits bitter hops when it hits the tongue and quickly moves to a delicious non acidic orange flavor. If you are familiar with a cara-cara orange, it was the first thing that entered my mind. The aftertaste of orange lingers nicely though a little warm. Mouthfeel has enough to it,medium but definitely not too thin

A very enjoyable beer, this one was hyped by some friends of mine so I was expecting a lot more. I would still purchase on sight and enjoy anytime this beer is available.
