Palate Contaminants: none

Look is a nice medium amber with lots of fine off-white head. Slightly opaque.

The smell is a bit marmalade and a bit peach. There's also some graininess that renders the whole thing like some sort of pastry. Sweetness is moderate, and there's a hint of undetermined tree bark. I just wish it was a little stronger.

The taste is pretty rich with earthen flavors, and it's certainly very malty. Marmalade gives way to tea, moss, non-smoky peat, and even more bark (some sort of broadleaf tree). Light stone fruit are somewhere in the background, but there's not a single one that stands out. The sweetness is certainly cranked up, and there's a bit of floralness. Bitterness is detectable, but it never overwhelms.

Medium feel, and there's less than average carbonation for the type. The sweetness hangs around quite a bit.

Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Mostly clear medium golden pour. Two fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Dank tropical fruits... mango and citrus... slight pine/evergreen.

T/F: Rich malts form the backbone with a tropical and fruity hop profile. Definite mango, papaya, and citrus. Bready with a bit of spice. Warming... well carbonated and medium in body. Finish is sticky citrus.

O: An outstanding DIPA. This could be an everyday drinker if it was even remotely available on the East Coast. Definitely a treat to snag a bottle.

Looks is copper orange clear
Smell is citrus sweet. Loads of hops
Taste is hoppy with a really balanced malt background. This sort of reminds me of citra showers
Overall, amazing beer. Can't understand the low rating

Pours a clear copper, no head

Smells of grapefruit, lemon, somewhat grassy

Taste is sweeter, more tropical. Malt is prominent

Somewhat oily and sweet

Not very impressive, given Noble's record.

Looks appealing enough; clear amber gold with a foamy white head. Medium lacing. Aroma is a near 50/50 blend of tropical fruit and citrus, with a touch of pine. Flavor follows with a faint amount of chalky sweetness (think Smarties). Feel is medium bodied, slightly oily, moderate carbonation, and again with that sweet chalky feeling, yet bitter enough to please a bitter fiend such as myself. Overall, this was a very good DIPA, but I've come to expect more from Noble these last couple of years. Cheers!

Pours a cloudy bright orange. Lots of sweet malt on the nose as well. Aroma is has lots of citrus, piney hops with some lemon and tropical notes. The taste is fairly balanced, easy drinking, nothing offensive. There is a big malt "backbone" and lots of hops bitterness which is consistent to the style. A nice double IPA in a bottle, I'll bet it is amazing on draft. Nice work N.A.W.!

Make sure you have the newest batch the one that won the Silver at GABF. Truly an amazing older whale style IPA. Middle of hazy and west coast. A true delight to anyone who appreciates brews like Pliny, Blind Pig, KRBC Citra, Heady, SOS. The pre Treehouse haze craze.

almost gaggingly sweet, like a ten percent or higher IPA.... not bad, but their portfolio certainly boasts some top notch IPAs and this one doesn't fall into that category. i wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't a drain pour either.....
