Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This beer doesn’t hold back. We start with as much Canadian barley as we can fit in our mash mixer, then add some toasty Munich malt and toffee-flavoured crystal malt for a rich, malty balance to the hop onslaught that follows. We cram our kettle with Centennial and Cascade hop varieties for refreshing clean bitterness and hop flavour, then dry hop in the fermenter for an aroma that will spank you right in the face. Party like its 1772!

Good colour & head. Citrus nose from the Centennial & Cascade hops, bitter resinous finish. Indistinguishable from Mad Tom IPA (to me).

A: Amber and crystal clear, with plenty of head.
S: Floral hops.
T: Floral hops, mildly piney. Milder than I'd expect for an IPA, but not bad.
F: Medium bodied.

Bottle (courtesy of LL) to pint glass. Best of the PEI 4pack so far( but the stout still lurks.).

LOOK: mostly clear, yellow-orange. Medium white head that lasts. Persistent carbonation is evident.
AROMA: lots of citrus and tropical fruit.
TASTE: more fruit, mango, lime, even kiwi?. Slight resinous pine shows up late.
FEEL: Medium body, carbonation holds throughout.

Very nice IPA, pleasantly surprised with this one as the Brown Ale and the Honey Wheat were sub par.

Pours a fairly transparent, orange body with soapy, creamy head. The smell is sweet, with a citrusy, tropical aroma leading the way as an American IPA would. The taste has little sharpness, though what comes through is just a little tangerine from the hops followed by a sub-par body. Not a bad feel, but a disappointment. Still alright.

Look:
Nice copper color (sorry it's "colour" for all my Canadian advocates). Not quite filtered but not murky either. One finger head.

Smell:
Caramel, biscuit, earth and tree bark.

Taste:
Peppery and malty, piney bitterness hits about mid palate with some mild sweetness at the end.

Feel: Perfect carbonation for the style, good body.

Overall: An excellent English IPA, I drifted away from the style with some of the American IPA's breaking boundaries. However this is a style, and this is a beer, worth enjoying for sure.

A-Amber in color with an off white head that lingers
S-I get a dank, piney grass aroma, much like the Columbus hop
M-Light to medium body with a good carbonation that isn't peppery or over powering
T-The bitterness is really smooth, not too harsh, good balance with the sweetness of the malt, which has some toasted character but not over the top.
O-I really enjoyed this beer, it's a solid IPA in my opinion and to say it's from Canada is a bonus...I highly recommend.
