Notes / Commercial Description:
Orange Blossom Pilsner or OBP for short is a honey beer made with real, local orange blossom honey. It’s not sweet because the sugar in the honey is fermented, leaving OBP tasting crisp and clean.

Brewed with real orange blossom honey. There are 2.3 teaspoons of pure Orange Blossom Honey in every can of OBP. But don’t go thinkin’ you’re getting a mouthful of sweetness, sweetness. The fermentation process gives it a crisp, refreshing flavor sans candy-assery. So crack open a cold one. The bees need the work.

this is woefully underrated here. i actually grabbed it out of the cooler door thinking it was something i had never seen from jdubs before, whom i have liked in the past and was looking to try, the artwork on the orange can and the aesthetic are sort of similar, but i was both surprised and intrigued to learn it was something entirely different. 2.3 teaspoons of orange blossom honey per can of beer is a lot, and its awesome in here. some may say this is over flavored, tastes like orange juice, or even is too sweet from all the honey, but i think its awesome, and when judged on flavor alone, its hard to be critical of this. so much natural honey, a sweet orange and floral element to it, and still a pilsener beer underneath, with some slightly richer crackery malt and the classic drying yeast, not quite as crisp as the best takes on the style, but i happily sacrifice that for the honey flavor, which is awesome and super prominent here. when its ice cold, i slam the cans down like there is no tomorrow, so refreshing and flavorful, perfect florida vacation afternoon session beer, and even though it doesnt warm up that well (gets way too heavy for a pils and the sweetness kind of takes over), i found myself sad when i reached into our cooler for another can only to learn that we had drank them all. i think this is great stuff, super summery and flavorful, i love all the honey and the orange and the carbonation, surprised to see it hasnt resonated with the people who have reviewed it here, i thought it was great and will definitely be buying more of it this week!

This looked different, and I wanted to try more local Florida beers. I wasn't sure if I'd like a fruit beer, but this one surprised me. It wasn't overly fruity at all. The honey taste is there, but it's very subtle, and compliments the rest of the beer nicely. It's a darker beer, and had a nice, slightly heavy after taste. Worth a try.

A local brew (from where I'm from) which wasn't particularly the best the area has to offer, but it's not entirely bad either.

From the bottle, it pours a thin, very white head with little staying power - practically no lacing. It does, however, have a nice hue of yellow (maybe accentuated by the honey used in the recipe?) Anyway, I could smell the honey distinctly - a big plus - but I could barely, and I mean, barely taste it. The beer had a little aftertaste, no stickiness to it, and overall, I rated it well above average than other pilners I have had. Again, nothing spectacular, but not bad either.

And remember, if you're gonna drink, don't drive, but if you have to drive, then do us all a favor and don't drink...
