Style: American Blonde Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Although pale ale is one of the world’s most common beer styles, Crosswind is anything but. Light in colour but not flavour, our pale ale is a surefire hit among drinkers of full-flavoured premium imports.

A nice beer to have again.

A nice touch of hop just enough. Nice odor, this beer smell really nice.

The 43 ml can is 5% ABV, and an IBU of 25. Just the amount I can tollerate.

I will have this one again.

Another excellent beer from Lake of Bays. This brewery has done some excellent work mixing various elements with taste and smell, whilst breaking the narrative on the style, in a good way.

From a "tall can" (could not find a bottle)

Look(4.25): Golden, with hints of orange and amber. Very attractive in a traditional UK style pint glass.
Smell(3.25): Relatively traditional for the style, Mainly hops with hints of other attractive elements.
Taste(4): First thing that came was hops, finishing with malts and a mixture of bitter and sweet
Feel(4): Heavy, slightly creamy, slightly flat. All the elements of this beer complement each other
Overall(4): Easily one of the best beers I've tried this year. Would like to see a little more carbonation in the beer, but it doesn't ruin the experience. Went great with smoked ribs. Would recommend to a friend.

This tasting was opened as my Day 4 beer in my Beer Advent Calendar for 2015. This is the second year my wife has made me one of these and it is a great treat to get to open a beer every day after work.
This a find American Blonde Ale with a fine finish. This is a go to beer for me when I go out and I'm look for something to have out with the boys. It really needs to be cold to enjoy. rq

Tweet: Today’s #BeerAdventCalendar2015 is a Lake of Bays Brewing Co – ‘Crosswind Pale Ale’. Very tasty clean ale. @LB_Brewing [with photo]

Slightly hazy golden color with a good amount of activity. Slightly creamy white 1 finger, lasting around 5 to 10 minutes, with some very good legs.

Aromas of butterscotch and sweet grains. Flavors of roasted malts, lemon, caramel, floral and noble spices. Balanced sweetness and salivating sharpness. Nice bread feel with a hint of grass.

Smooth oily almost full body with prickly carbonation. Light finish that lingers a little, ending with bready feel of burnt caramel, and roasted malty sweetness.

Overall a very good quality craft. Delicious mix of flavors that are super well balanced and quite complex. A little faint but super fresh and sharp.

473ml can poured into tulip 25/9/15

A clear golden liquid with fine sediment suspended throughout, a short lived finger of foam leaves no lace

S orange cream, leafy herbal hops, cooked veggies, and some bread crust

T bread and butterscotch, leafy, earthy, metallic, maybe even some nuttiness? kinda ho hum

M medium bodied, bubbles fluff up and flatten out, slick on the palate, herbal, caramel finish

O OK pale ale but plenty of room for improvement, maybe some diacetyl popping up, drinkable though just nothing special

Nothing really worth seeking out but I wouldn't say no if someone passed me one either, just another beer
